Neil Allerton is a barrister at Parklane Plowden Chambers who specialises in Family: Children Law.

Position

Neil qualified as a Solicitor in 1982 and worked in private practice until transferring to the Bar in 2016.

He began his career specialising initially in Family and Criminal Law. However he quickly focused his practice to work solely in the field of Child Care and Family Law.  As a solicitor he was a founding member of the Duty Solicitor Scheme and a member of the Law Society Children Panel from 1990 until 2016.  

Neil primarily undertakes work in children cases specialising in both Public Law and Private Law work. 

In Public Law Care Proceedings he frequently represents parents, grandparents and children and has also represented Local Authorities, particularly in the conduct of urgent Applications.

He has frequently been instructed as agent by other Solicitors, due to his expertise and ability to analyse detailed information speedily and provide detailed advice to clients.
