Kuri Breña, Sánchez Ugarte y Aznar's banking and finance team is regularly instructed by a cohort of domestic and international banks, which it assists on both the borrower and lender sides. Core areas of focus for the group include structured and asset-backed financing, project finance and real estate finance. Four partners share leadership of the practice group: founding partner Daniel Kuri Breña takes care of structured financing transactions, cross-border financings, and syndicated and bilateral loans; he has particular sectoral expertise in energy, telecoms, and construction. Guillermo Garay regularly advises banking sector-clients on the acquisitions of loan portfolios and financial restructuring transactions, while Rodrigo López Márquez has particular experise in financial regulation and fintech. Completing the leadership group, Alejandro Sobarzo Hadad has notable experience on the issuance and placement of equity and debt instruments. Silvia Roldán, who was promoted to the partnership in July 2023, is an additional key contact for banking, finance and M&A work, as is associate Alfonso Alfaro Rincón Gallardo. Álvaro Sarmiento Lapiedra left the firm in January 2024.
