Following the June 2024 departure of Brian Minutti to establish his own firm, the former Chávez Vargas Abogados has reverted to it’s fomer name Chávez Vargas Abogados – notwithstanding founding partner José Antonio Chávez departure for an in-house role at Kans Capital. In the interim, private equity and securities’ specialist Luis Fernando Serrallonga has been appointed managing partner of the firm, as well as finance practice head, following his arrival from Basila Abogados in January 2024. The firm remains equipped to handle a range of finance mandates, including financing contracts, the private securitization of assets, and the structuring and refinancing of liabilities. It also advises debtors and creditors alike on regulatory mandates.Key support is provided by senior associate Cynthia Ibarra, whose practice takes in corporate structure and planning for credit facilities related to infrastructure and real estate development projects. Diego Medina is an additional name to note at associate level. Former practice co-head Alejandro Carreño and intermediate associate Jimena Pulliam departed with Minutti in June 2024.
