October 2024 saw the former Mayer Brown Mexico, S.C. transition into Fernandez, Garcia-Naranjo, Boker & Garibay, S.C. following the US firm's withdrawal from the Mexican market. The newly independent firm has nevertheless maintained it's corporate prowess virtually intact and continues to advise on a wide range of transactions, among them M&A, joint ventures and divestitures; it is routinely engaged by funds, financing sources and companies in the alcoholic beverage, construction, e-commerce, automotive and logistics segments. The practice is co-directed by Raúl Fernández-Briseño, who is well-versed in corporate transactions and finance, and has particular knowledge of the infrastructure, telecoms, private equity and fintech sectors; he focuses on acquisitions, shareholders’ arrangements, cross-border transactions and corporate disputes, as well as regulatory issues. Fellow practice co-head Francisco García-Naranjo is primarily noted for his experience obtaining regulatory authorisations for the establishment and operation of financial institutions in Mexico, and has additional expertise in M&A. Raised to the partnership as part of the firm's transition process, Javier Garibay brings further experience, primarily across corporate transacitonal matters (M&A), and bankruptcy & restructuring. Key associate support is provided by senior Sebastián Fernández Alonso Márquez, whose corporate transactional practice also takes in experience representing clients before competition body, COFECE. Former senior associate Eduardo Diego Fernández Forseck moved in-house at Mauser Packaging Solutions in October 2024.
