Bustamante + Freyre

A spin-off from Vera y Asociados, Bustamante + Freyre is a sizeable specialist boutique that opened its doors in January 2021. Almost 40-strong, and with offices not only in the key cities of Mexico, Monterrey and Guadalajara, but also in Reynosa on the US-Mexico border and key tourism hubs Cancún and Los Cabos, the firm provides environmental, legal and social services primarily in relation to the energy and hydrocarbons, hospitality and tourism development, real estate and agro-industrial sectors, as well as more generally in relation to industry, mining, construction and infrastructure. Senior (and founding) partners Gabriel Bustamante B and Gerardo Freyre F co-lead the practice from Mexico City and Cancún, respectively. The pair are flanked by younger partners Héctor Campos Carrillo and Daniel Gómez Ramírez (who was raised to the partnership in January 2023), with further experienced support provided by senior associate Juan Carlos Campos Becerril. Moreover, in a sign of ongoing growth, the firm hired former Santamarina y Steta senior associate Juan Carlos Aguirre Martínez as its director of strategic projects in March 2022.
