Yves is renowned for his extensive experience in patent litigation. Yves is the partner who leads our Intellectual Property group in France. He is based in our Paris office. With more than 25 years' experience in IP, Yves has extensive experience in litigation. He has dealt with some of the most significant, cross border, patent cases in the fields of pharmaceuticals, electronics, telecommunications and mechanics. Yves also led the establishment of our Lyon office in 2006, making Bird & Bird the first Anglo Saxon law firm to practice in Lyon. Before joining us, Yves was an IP partner at Lamy Véron & Associés. He is a Professor at CEIPI (Strasbourg), a lecturer at Centre Paul Roubier and regularly teaches at Montpellier Law University.

Admitted to the Paris Bar in 2005 and Gide partner since 2017, Jean-Hyacinthe de Mitry specialises in French and EU industrial property law. His expertise includes both contentious and non-contentious matters in all areas of industrial property (patents, trademarks, designs) and protection of know-how and trade secrets, and also in unfair competition matters and copyright,s notably relating to architectural works. In contentious matters, he regularly advises and represents French and international clients, mainly in infringement disputes and in disputes relating to agreements having a strong IP and/or technology content. He has wide experience in national and multijurisdictional patent disputes, notably in the life sciences and telecom sectors. In trademark matters, he speaks before all French and EU courts. He can advocate equally in French and English. In non-contentious matters, he regularly advises French and non-French clients in drafting and negotiating IP-related or technology transfer agreements (licenses, assignments, R&D agreements, etc.), whether as standalone agreements or as part of high-stake corporate deals or projects (IPOs, joint ventures, acquisitions, infrastructure projects, etc.).

Pauline heads the IP/TMT practice of Linklaters in Paris and has considerable experience in IP litigation and specifically patent litigation. She focuses on handling complex cross-border patent and trademark litigations, notably in the healthcare and telecommunications sectors. She assists major clients in all types of proceedings, including preliminary injunctions, seizures (saisie-contrefaçon), revocation and infringement actions, arbitration and mediation, often in a global context (parallel litigation in the US, pending oppositions before the EPO). Pauline works in close coordination with our competition experts, notably on standard essential patents related cases. Pauline also assists clients from various industries with negotiating and drafting contracts related to IP rights (JV agreements, R&D agreements, co-existence agreements) and on projects and corporate deals (acquisitions, carve out) where IP is a key asset. Pauline co-heads the Patent Commission of the French group of AIPPI, as well as the Standing Committee on Patents and Standards. She is also a member of EPLAW (European Patent Lawyers association), APRAM, APEB and LES. Pauline is ranked amongst France’s best IP lawyers. Her team is ranked Band 1 by Legal 500 (2020) and won the Award of the Best patent team in 2020 (Trophées du Droit, Leaders League 2020).

Raphaëlle Dequiré-Portier is a partner in Gide Loyrette Nouel's Intellectual Property, Telecoms, Media & Technology Department. Her practice focuses mainly on advising and assisting clients in disputes with regard to patents and trademark law. She has gained wide experience in domestic and pan-European disputes, particularly in the field of patent infringements and the validity of patents. Emmanuel Larere is a member of the Intellectual Property, Telecommunications, Media & Technology department. He joined the Firm in 1993 and has contributed towards the development of intellectual property law within the Firm, especially patent law litigation. He became partner in 2003. Emmanuel Larere's practice relates mainly to non-contentious and contentious patent and trademark matters. He is an acknowledged specialist in trademark law and has defended and advised some of the world's leading brands in the luxury goods, cosmetics and sports apparel sectors. In patent law, he has participated in the Firm's most significant cases, particularly those requiring co-ordination of several national legal teams. He has been involved in several cases regarding declarations of non-infringement of patents.

Loïc Lemercier, Partner, heads the Intellectual Property and Technologies (IP&T) group of Dentons’ Paris office. Over the last 10 years, Loïc has handled both contentious and non-contentious patent, trademark, copyright, design, unfair competition and trade secret cases. Focusing on industrial property, Loïc has built a solid patent litigation track record assisting many large corporations with a particular emphasis on the pharmaceutical and telecoms sectors.
