Partner and chair of the board Johnny Johansen is among Norway’s most respected legal practitioners. He has substantial experience in litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution, and is admitted to the Supreme Court. He is particularly renowned for his work in large and complex construction and infrastructure projects, including buildings, roads, railways, power plants, and onshore aquaculture farms. Johansen is recommended and referred to within his practice areas by inter alia Chambers Global, Chambers Europe, Legal 500 and Finansavisen (Norwegian Financial Daily's). In the latter, he has over the last years been ranked as the leading construction lawyer in Norway. Johansen frequently sits as an arbitrator in international and domestic contract disputes. He is a member of the Norwegian Bar Association’s contract law committee, regularly lectures on his areas of specialisation and is the author of several respected legal books and articles.

Partner Nils-Henrik Pettersson has worked as a lawyer since 1984. He has litigated hundreds of civil cases before the courts, including around 25 cases before the Supreme Court. He has extensive experience with arbitration cases, including as an arbitrator, and has litigated several of the most prominent cases that have been brought before Norwegian courts. He also has considerable experience with buying and selling businesses. Nils-Henrik has special experience with cases concerning professional liability, auditors’ liability, corporate disputes, oil and gas related disputes and construction law and real estate. He also has extensive experience as a member of boards of directors, corporate assemblies and election committees in listed and unlisted companies.

Partner Arve Martin Hyldmo Bjørnvik is a respected leader in his fields of expertise, having more than 20 years of experience in legal practice. He is specialized in contract and construction law, litigation and arbitration. He is particularly renowned for his expert handling of complex construction and fabrication projects, both onshore and offshore, for Norwegian and international clients. In recent years he has been leading several of Haavind’s largest and most important cases, particularly large and complex infrastructure and construction projects. Partner Bjørnvik is in-demand for his dispute resolution skill and experience and he is regularly selected as an arbitrator, particularly in contract and construction disputes, in addition to regularly representing clients in both domestic and cross-border arbitrations. He is also among Norway’s foremost litigators, admitted to appear before the Supreme Court and experienced as a judge at both the district court and appeals court levels. Among his professional activities, Partner Bjørnvik is network leader in JUC’s network for construction law and regularly selected as a speaker on legal topics in various settings.

Mr Bull's work mainly relates to offshore and onshore construction projects within oil & gas, renewables, process and aluminium industry. Jacob has extensive experience from development projects also outside Norway, and his name is often highlighted by international rating agencies.

Partner Ronny Lund works with contract law in general and construction law in particular, both onshore and offshore. His assistance includes all stages of a contractual relationship, from the pre-contractual phase of preparations, contract drafting and negotiations, to contract administration and dispute resolution in or out of court. Lund's background from the Office of the City Advocate in Oslo has given him good knowledge of and experience with related areas of law, including general and special administrative law and the rules regarding the pre-contractual phase of public procurement. Lund also has extensive experience with litigation before Norwegian and international courts of arbitration. He is also widely used as a mediator and arbitrator.

Asbjørn Lyséll Dølvik works mainly with contract law, construction law, real estate, and civil dispute resolution within the abovementioned areas. He has special experience and expertise within contract drafting, ongoing claims and change management, final settlements and final settlement disputes, as well as mediation and legal processes before ordinary courts and through arbitration. Asbjørn also has considerable experience in handling English-language contracts and disputes. He completed parts of his law degree in England and specialises in English contract law and EU law.

Partner Aron Solheim is an experienced litigator and construction lawyer. Aron has extensive experience in assisting key operators in the construction industry. He can assist with contract drafting, follow-up during execution and resolution of disputes before courts or arbitration boards and has broad experience in bringing large complex construction cases to court. Aron also has experience with general business law litigation. Among other things, he has worked on cases concerning auditors’ and directors’ liability. Aron has litigated before all court instances.

Peter Vagle has extensive experience with litigation and work in procedural law, construction law and public law issues, including public procurements. Peter also takes mediation and arbitration assignments. His main focus is currently related to the planning and implementation of major processes before the courts, but also includes counselling, as well as various training and lecture activities.

Partner. Heimdal specialises in construction law and has extensive experience of contract negotiations, project support, risk management and dispute resolution in the building and construction sector. This includes various types of partnering models. He has considerable experience of dispute resolution and in-court advocacy, and has represented clients in both the district and appeal courts. Heimdal previously worked as a lawyer with the construction companies AF Gruppen and Veidekke Entreprenør, during which time he provided legal assistance on a wide range of large and complex building and construction projects. At the same time, he gained considerable insight into the technical and commercial challenges facing the sector. Heimdal has in-depth knowledge of the description systems used in Norwegian construction projects, NS 3420 and Handbook R761/R762 (Process Code). He also has specialist competence regarding consulting engineers’ professional liability and has written an article on project design mistakes which was published in the journal Tidsskrift for Eiendomsrett. With experience from “all sides of the table”, he has a firm understanding of risk and how his advice impacts the project. Stian is an experienced public speaker and regularly gives lectures to actors in the building and construction industry.

Sofie Komissar has ten years of experience as a construction lawyer. She joined Haavind as a partner in the company’s construction department in March 2023. She has been involved in several disputes, primarily in the onshore construction sector, both in arbitration cases and before various city and appeal courts. She also has extensive experience in disputes concerning design and engineering contracts and assisted one of Norway’s largest engineering companies on a regular basis over an eight year period. Sofie has rapidly established a reputation as a prominent construction lawyer and often acts as speaker at seminars and presentations on construction contracts.

Partner. Maartman-Moe specialises in dispute resolution and contract law. She has particular experience of fabrication contracts (construction) and professional liability. She has acquired considerable experience of managing wide-ranging and complex dispute cases through many years in private practice. Disputes have related to consulting/financial liability, directors’ liability, compensation claims relating to expropriation, final settlement of construction projects and claims relating to various types of commercial contracts. Maartman-Moe is particularly committed to alternative dispute resolution mechanisms and is certified as a mediator by the Norwegian Bar Association. She accepts assignments as a mediator in individual cases and as a member of mediation panels for major fabrication projects (PRIME/KLR). Maartman-Moe has experience as an arbitration judge and is frequently appointed as an expert/arbitrator in construction law disputes. Maartman-Moe assists clients in all phases of a construction project, from initial preparations and contract negotiations to execution and final settlement. She assists with all kinds of fabrication projects relating to buildings, infrastructure and technical installations. Maartman-Moe is proactive and known for doing her utmost to safeguard her clients’ interests. She is keen to provide clear and balanced advice that also takes her clients’ commercial interests into account. This is illustrated by her commitment to alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, which springs from the understanding that it will often be quicker and less expensive for the parties to commercial disputes to investigate the possibility of reaching an amicable solution.

Ailu Gaup Stadigs specializes in construction and contract law and has extensive experience with dispute resolution in these areas. Ailu assists clients in extensive and complex disputes. He provides legal advice regarding  the implementation and execution of construction contracts. He has worked with a number of the largest land-based final settlement disputes that have been in Norway recent years, where the dispute sum has often been in the billions. Ailu has significant experience with assisting in negotiations and in judicial and extrajudicial mediations. He has assisted clients in several of the largest mediations conducted in recent years, including what is referred to as the most extensive judicial mediation held in Norway. He has also been appointed as a mediator in a number of cases. Ailu is also a regular examiner at the Faculty of Law at the University of Oslo.

Line Wefald offers expertise within construction law and general contract law, and also has extensive litigation experience. She has highly detailed knowledge of legal developments and industry norms in the building and construction sector, and has a particular focus on transport, infrastructure and PPP.

Lars Erik works primarily with contract matters and counselling related construction law. He assists clients in all stages of the building projects, from contract negotiations, claims handling and day-to-day counselling, managing the final settlement, as well as dispute handling and litigation. Lars Erik has also considerable experience in handling mediation and proceedings before courts.
