Anders Hermansen
Anders Hermansen
Anders is a partner in Plesner's Real Estate team. He advises Danish and international clients on M&A transactions involving real estate, property development projects, and lease law. Anders has significant experience in all aspects of complex real estate transactions, including due diligence investigations, the drafting and negotiation of transfer documents, and the completion of closings. Anders has advised clients in a large number of complex property transactions throughout his career, and he has, among other things, extensive experience in forward purchasing transactions, the transfer of residential portfolios and logistics facilities, as well as transactions with a cross-border element. Anders also has considerable experience in company law and commercial contract drafting, negotiation, and conclusion. Anders holds a master’s degree in law from the University of Copenhagen and has studied for a semester at Tulane University in New Orleans, USA. As a foreign lawyer, Anders has worked with Danish shipping company A.P. Møller-Maersk in the US for a year. Plesner's Real Estate team offers specialist advice on real estate acquisition and sale, real estate development, and asset management. The team offers collaborative and solution-oriented advice to both Danish and international clients, including property funds, pension funds, property developers, and private real estate companies, based on a collaborative and solution-oriented approach. Benjamin is a partner in Plesner's Real Estate team. In his areas of legal expertise, he has specialised in commercial lease law, real property transactions, and litigation. Benjamin is the preferred advisor in commercial lease law, with extensive experience in negotiating, drafting, and handling disputes relating to all types of commercial leases, including office, restaurant, warehouse, production, and land leases, as well as leases in shopping centres. In addition, Benjamin provides highly specialised advice on all aspects of lease law related to the transfer, development, and optimisation of real property. Throughout his career, Benjamin has advised clients in a large number of complex lease matters and has been deeply involved with some of the largest and most prominent commercial lease portfolios and lease cases in Denmark. Benjamin holds a Master’s degree in law from the University of Copenhagen. He is admitted to the High Court of Denmark. Charlotte Hasseriis Iversen
Charlotte is a partner in Plesner's Insurance and Pension Law team. She has assisted a number of Danish and foreign insurance and pension companies, as well as insurance intermediaries, with establishment and restructuring, including portfolio transfers. She has also assisted a number of Danish and foreign companies with advice on the Danish insurance intermediary regulation. Charlotte specialises in general insurance and tort law, which encompasses insurance fraud, advisors' professional liability, product liability, general commercial liability, and reinsurance. In these areas, she has handled a large number of litigation and arbitration proceedings. Thanks to her in-depth knowledge of the insurance markets, Charlotte provides targeted and value-creating advisory services to her clients in the industry. Charlotte holds a master’s degree in law from the University of Copenhagen. She is a vice chairman of the board of the Danish Association of Insurance Law and a member of the board of the European chapter of the International Insurance Law Association (AIDA). Plesner's Insurance and Pension Law team has conducted a series of leading cases on behalf of large Danish insurance and pension companies. The team offers advice on all regulatory aspects, including transactions and restructurings of large Danish and foreign insurance and pension companies, as well as insurance intermediaries. The Insurance and Pension Law team has detailed knowledge of the insurance and pension industry, as well as insurance intermediaries, thanks to the cases in which we have been involved. Christian Karhula Lauridsen
Christian is a partner in Plesner's EU and Competition Law team, and he has extensive experience in the most complex and largest competition law investigations and litigation matters involving cartels, abuses, and damages. Together with the team, Christian was the first in Denmark to file negative declaratory actions ("torpedoes") in competition-related cases and the only one in Denmark to have practical experience with both the European Commission's leniency programme and settlement procedure. According to international ranking firms, Christian is considered by clients to be "top-notch for complicated issues," a "strategic mastermind,"  "extremely analytical and straightforward," and "particularly strong on complex investigations, where every stone needs to be turned." He "thinks outside the box,"  "has great business acumen,"  and "is brilliant, always convincing, and extremely impressive in the courtroom" (Chambers and Legal 500). Christian holds a combined Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Copenhagen and Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, as well as a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in competition law, EU law, and IP law from the University of Cambridge (Jesus College). He served as an associate professor at Copenhagen Business School after receiving a secondment to work at Carlsberg's group secretariat. Christian has served as chairman of the Danish Competition Law Society. He is admitted to the Supreme Court of Denmark. Plesner's EU and Competition Law team consists of highly specialised lawyers and economists, some with experience from previous employment with the Danish Competition and Consumer Authority, the Danish Public Prosecutor's Department, Danish Courts, the Ministry of Justice, the Danish Complaints Board for Public Procurement, and the corporate sector. Christian Th. Kjølbye
Christian Th. Kjølbye
Christian focuses on litigation and arbitration proceedings and corporate and regulatory advisory and investigations, fraud issues, and fit & proper matters. Christian has been involved as either counsel or arbitrator in numerous Danish and international arbitration proceedings (under the rules of DIA, ICC, LCIA, VIAC, etc.) regarding a range of matters, including contractual disputes, shareholder agreements, D&O liability, auditor's liability and transaction/post M&A related disputes. Cases handled by Christian and his team have, for example, centred on purchase price adjustments, earn-out disputes, put/call options and claims for breach of warranty issues. Such disputes have involved a high degree of complexity, as well as expert opinions and testimony, written affidavits and various procedural and jurisdictional issues. Christian was also part of Plesner's Corporate Finance team for many years. He has represented clients in a number of the largest and most complex transactions and privatisations in Denmark. His clients have included the Danish state, large international and domestic corporations, P/E funds and family-owned businesses. The hands-on experience and commercial understanding earned by working for many years with all aspects of M&A processes have proven valuable for Christian and his team, for example in connection with cases involving negligence and breach of fiduciary duties, including the disclosure duty on the part of the seller, and the importance of the buyer's knowledge and due diligence with respect to the target business. Christian is active as chairman or board member of a number of Danish companies and foundations. He has been actively involved in the management and development of Plesner, and he has held board positions in numerous Danish companies, including i.e. Finansiel Stabilitet (the state-owned company taking over distressed banks after the financial crisis in the years following 2009). Christian holds a master's degree in law from the University of Copenhagen and from New York University School of Law. He is admitted to the Supreme Court of Denmark, he is a certified arbitrator and is frequently appointed as an arbitrator in Danish and International arbitration proceedings. Daniel Barry
Daniel Barry
Daniel advises on all aspects of Danish and EU competition law, and he continues to act on some of the most complex and high-profile competition law cases. Daniel focuses primarily on complex competition law litigations, including Danish and EU cartel and abuse cases, as well as Danish and multi-jurisdictional follow-on damages cases. His experience includes participation in the European Commission's leniency programme and settlement procedure, coordination of criminal and administrative procedures, and follow-on damages actions in various foreign jurisdictions. Daniel has participated in the filing of several negative declaratory actions, also known as "torpedoes", that Denmark had not previously employed in competition-related cases. Daniel also advises on M&A matters, including Danish and EU merger notifications, multi-jurisdictional merger notification coordination, and M&A-related competition law issues. Daniel is in charge of Plesner's team for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and Foreign Subsidies Regulation (FRS) matters. He is Chairman of the Competition Law Committee under the Association of Danish Law Firms and Vice-Chairman of the Board of the Danish Association for Competition Law, and he is qualified to appear before the High Courts of Denmark. Daniel always works in teams to achieve the best possible results for clients. In most cases, this includes both other lawyers and economists from Plesner's in-house economic unit.

Emil is a partner in our Banking and Finance team. Emil focuses primarily on financial regulation and offers advice in that regard, particularly to banks, asset managers, pension funds, and investment funds. His experiences cover particularly complex transactions and contract structures, which often involve cross-border aspects. Emil has worked on several financial undertaking investigations and has extensive experience in assisting with the handling of various enforcement cases, as well as matters concerning breaches of Danish financial regulation, liability, and managerial responsibility. Further, Emil assists clients on an ongoing basis with material projects such as the establishment of financial undertakings or investment funds (AIFs and UCITS), purchases or sales of financial undertakings, larger reorganisations or restructurings, and implementation projects in respect of new financial regulation. Emil also has extensive experience advising on and negotiating contracts for dealing derivatives and commodities (natural gas, electricity, and oil). He holds a master’s degree in law from the University of Copenhagen. Emil Hedegaard Mikkelsen
Emil is a director in our Banking and Finance team. He specialises in financial regulation and lending transactions. Emil advises financial institutions, asset managers and other regulated financial entities on regulatory matters, e.g., obtainment of authorisation and cross-border registrations, remuneration programs, marketing rules, management fitness and propriety, etc. He has advised large Nordic financial institutions under investigation by the Danish FSA for regulatory non-compliance. Emil also advises lenders and borrowers with domestic and cross-border financing transactions, in particular corporate lending and project and asset financing, including renewable energy projects. Emil holds a Master of Laws degree from Aarhus University and a Master of Law from the University of Cambridge. He has previous work experience from other leading Danish law firms and the European Investment Bank. Emil is a partner in Plesner's Litigation and IP team. He has been involved in a wide range of disputes and litigation matters, including regulatory litigation, litigation regarding preliminary injunctions, IP litigation, and litigation concerning marketing and consumer law. Emil is also the head of Plesner's Marketing and Consumer Law team, which provides advice in all areas of marketing and consumer law, including compliance advice and disputes between businesses and the public authorities. Furthermore, Emil has extensive experience with copyright, as well as media and entertainment law matters. Emil holds a master's degree in law from the University of Copenhagen. She has led some of the most significant merger control investigations involving Danish companies. Hans heads our Corporate Finance team, and in addition to advising on M&A transactions in general, he specialises in advising private equity funds and private equity owned businesses. Hans has extensive experience from more than 25 years as a partner in our Corporate Finance team and has been involved in more than 100 transactions, both in Denmark and abroad - but always with an international angle to the transaction. A number of Hans' private equity clients has had a buy and build strategy which, in addition to the core M&A advice, has also required extensive advice on corporate and contract law as well as incentive programmes and shareholder agreements. The many transactions have covered a vast number of sectors, including industrial, retail, it, life science, shipping, financial institutions and automotive. Hans' career originally started in our Insolvency Law and Restructuring team, and he has therefore also carved out a special niche in advising on matters involving M&A in relation to distressed assets. Henrik is among the most active transactional lawyers in Denmark, having completed transactions with an aggregate value of more than DKK 250bn. Henrik has been involved in several Danish landmark transactions across multiple industries, including the acquisition by Tryg of RSA and the subsequent DKK 37bn rights issue, the Noble/Maersk Drilling business combination, the IPOs of Nets, Netcompany and ISS and the takeovers of Topdanmark and Nørresundby Bank. While working across multiple industries, Henrik has particular focus on the technology and life science sectors as well as the provision of advice to financial institutions. Jacob is a senior counsel in our Employment and Labour Law team, providing general advice on employment law issues. Jacob primarily focuses on the international aspects and the effect of EU law on Danish labour law. This area of expertise includes secondment and inpatriation of labour, work and residence permits, social security, international private law issues etc. Jacob's expertise also includes the labour law aspects comprised by collective labour law. Jacob also has extensive experience in relation to the employment law aspects relating to private pension funds and he advises on mergers and acquisitions, including insourcing and outsourcing processes. Jacob has special knowledge of the labour law framework used in the offshore industry and also of temporary/untypical labour. At the beginning of 2016 Jacob got a PhD for his business PhD project "Den europæiserede vikar" (in English: the Europeanised temp) that uncovered the employment law aspects of work undertaken by temp agency workers in Denmark.

Jacob is head of Plesner's Commercial, Franchise, and International Trade team. He has been involved in a wide range of projects and matters concerning international trade, trade compliance, international distribution, global franchise expansions, supply chain, warehousing and logistics, manufacturing, sourcing, licensing, and cross-border joint ventures. He has extensive experience within the field of franchising and licensing, including the drafting and negotiation of franchise agreements and licensing agreements, global franchise expansions, and international franchise expansions into Denmark and the Nordics, as well as the particular EU competition law rules on franchising. Jacob advises a broad range of large national, multi-national, and international companies within various industries and sectors in both Denmark and internationally. He advises international companies on export control, trade sanctions, and trade compliance programs, and he helps such companies assess and address compliance risks in relation to export control and trade sanctions. The automotive industry has for many years been one of Jacob's special areas of expertise, and he has in-depth knowledge of this industry. Jacob works for car factories, factory-owned and private car importers, banks, and financing companies. Jacob holds a master's degree in law from the University of Copenhagen. He serves on the International Franchising Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA), and he is also a member of EuroFranchise Lawyers, a group of Europe’s leading franchise lawyers. The International Distribution Institute has designated Jacob as a country expert regarding franchising in Denmark. He is also a member of the ABA's (American Bar Association) Forum on Franchising. In addition, Jacob has contributed to a number of international publications on franchising. Jacob is also the author of Karnov Online, in relation to the Commercial Agents Act. Jakob is an attorney-at-law in our IP and Life Science team working primarily with patent litigation. Jakob focuses on proceedings concerning the enforcement of technical property rights (primarily patents), including injunctions and preservation of evidence. Jakob is a member of our UPC Task Force. Jakob further advises undertakings on regulatory practices in relation to medicinal products, medical devices etc as a member of our regulatory Life Science group. Jakob also advises on IP agreements and life science agreements, for example licence agreements, research and development agreements and Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs). Jakob holds a Master's degree in law from the University of Copenhagen. All litigation, and especially patent litigation, require a focused and dedicated team approach working in close cooperation with both clients and other advisors. Our team excels in cooperation. Jakob is a partner in Plesner's Banking and Finance team. He is a market-leading practitioner with considerable experience in complex transactions and regulatory issues. Jakob has more than 20 years' experience advising clients in the financial sector and on finance transactions. Jakob advises on lending and debt capital market transactions, including acquisition financing, corporate lending, infrastructure, and project and asset finance. Peter is a director in our Data Protection Law team, and specialises in data protection law, ePrivacy law and operational compliance. Peter provides advice on a broad range of data protection-related issues, including the consequences of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for private entities and public authorities. Peter's advice often forms part of large-scale compliance projects on behalf of major Danish and international businesses. Peter was previously seconded to A.P Moller - Maersk for a year, where he was responsible for the implementation of Maersk's authority-approved Binding Corporate Rules as well as other data protection initiatives. Peter is also involved in the popular compliance software RISMAgdpr, which supports private entities, public authorities and other organisations in ensuring compliance with the material rules of the GDPR and the Danish Data Protection Act. Simon is currently a member of Plesner's Board of Directors.
