Practice areas
Corporate and commercial: With a focus on long-term relationships, the firm advises both Danish and international businesses, financial institutions, funds and listed and family-owned companies within all areas of corporate and commercial law.
M&A: Mazanti-Andersen’s M&A department is an experienced and dedicated team of attorneys with a well-documented track record and a strong international network. The firm has a broad M&A practice covering all aspects of domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, including major equity transactions. Furthermore, the firm has a very strong presence within private equity and venture capital and is the leading law firm in Denmark for fund formation, frequently assisting the management teams of a substantial number of venture funds in connection with their fund establishments.
Capital markets: Mazanti-Andersen is widely recognised for its experience in leading cross-border capital markets transactions. The firm provides advice within all areas related to capital market transactions, including IPOs rights issues, private placements, rule 144(A) offerings, take-overs and delistings, including securities market regulations such as disclosure requirements and corporate governance.
Employment law: Mazanti-Andersen has a highly specialised and business-oriented employment law department providing advice on all aspects of employment and labour law. The firm advises on negotiations and drafting of employment contracts, legal aspects of mergers and acquisitions, warrant programs, share option plans and negotiations relating to collective agreements.
EU and competition: Mazanti-Andersen advises on all aspects of competition law issues and undertakes litigation involving EU law and competition law matters, including legal assistance in connection with dawn raids. Within aspects of EU public procurement and questions of state subsidies, the firm provides advice to Danish and foreign companies and a number of Danish municipalities.
Insolvency and restructuring: The firm is leading within insolvency and restructuring in Denmark. The team handles insolvency matters for most of the major Danish financial institutions and provide legal advice to creditors/clients within all aspects of insolvency law and restructuring, as well as comprehensive assistance for owners and managements. Two partners in the firm are appointed as permanent trustees by the Maritime and Commercial Court in Copenhagen, meaning that they are public representatives in bankruptcy estates and in cases involving forced liquidation of companies. Due to these appointments, the firm handles at least 4-500 insolvency cases every year.
Intellectual property: The firm provides advice on all aspects of intellectual property rights. The firm has extensive experience in advising on trademarks, design protection and copyright both in Denmark and internationally.
Dispute resolution: The firm has for generations been a leading firm in Denmark in all areas of dispute resolution and is known for undertaking some of the most prominent, comprehensive and complex litigation cases. The firm has extensive experience in representing national and international clients in complex cases associated with general commercial and corporate law, public sector law, environmental law, financial crimes and compensation cases, including in particular cases involving management liability and professional liability. The firm’s partners are often appointed as arbitrators in Danish and foreign arbitration cases conducted in Danish, English and the Scandinavian languages.
Media and entertainment: Mazanti-Andersen has extensive experience in advising within all areas of media and entertainment law, and the firm advises the vast majority of international media companies active in the Danish market. The firm have advised on many fundamental first-mover cases regarding content utilisation on the many new online-based platforms to which rapid technological development has provided access. The firm have extensive experience in negotiating with collecting societies, distributors and relevant authorities, and they advise on the preparation and negotiation of complex production and distribution agreements as well as litigation, including cases for the Copyright License Tribunal.
Gaming and gambling: The firm has Denmark’s largest and most experienced gaming and gambling law team representing both domestic and international companies in this field on matters related to e.g. compliance with Danish regulation and license conditions, player terms, bonus systems, marketing campaigns, sponsorship agreements, payment services, AML and Responsible Gaming Rules, gaming fees, platform agreements and white-label agreements, and general issues related to gaming law.
Real estate and construction: The firms real estate expertise encompasses all aspects within the area, including cross-border transactions, financing, property development, rent legislation and construction law. The firm has a deep commercial understanding of the real estate market and advise in connection with the development of new projects and in relation to existing properties in all types of real estate, including hotels, industrial properties and residential properties. The firm has extensive experience within construction law and provides advice on infrastructure and building projects, including tenders and EU public procurement, drafting of construction contracts, partnership and consortium agreements, the organisation of building projects, contract termination and handover.
Shipping: The firm advises within aspects of shipping, including services to the shipping sector such as shipyards, insurance companies and banks.
