He has an extensive experience in international transactions within both traditional and new economy industries. He has been involved in buy-out and venture capital transactions both in the role of an advisor and as an in-house professional of a private equity investor. Antti’s experience gives him a thorough understanding of the key value drivers of private equity investors and their operating models. Antti has also actively participated in the governance, development and growth of investment targets throughout their entire investment cycle.

Antti Karanko specialises in arbitration, commercial litigation and mediation. Antti has successfully acted as counsel in several major commercial litigations and both domestic and international arbitration proceedings. Antti has extensive experience in disputes involving a wide range of commercial agreements and especially construction, real estate transactions, commercial lease agreements, international delivery of goods and turnkey projects. Antti’s practice also includes insolvency matters, product liability, safety and recall, directors’ liability, corporate compliance and governance and white-collar defence. Antti is an accredited mediator with the Finnish Bar Association.

Ari Keinänen is one of our most experienced attorneys specialised in corporate and real estate transactions. His knowledge of domestic and international corporate and business transactions and related financing arrangements, including real estate portfolio transactions, is exceptionally vast. Ari Keinänen has acted as a legal advisor in numerous demanding mergers and acquisitions, private equity and corporate transactions. Furthermore, he is experienced in securities transactions, such as public tender offers and squeeze outs. Ari´s wide-ranging experience allows him to serve our customers in major and complex corporate and real estate transactions.

Competition Partner

Erkko Ruohoniemi specialises in competition law related cases, such as merger control notifications to the Finnish and EU Competition Authorities as well as cases of abuse of dominant position and cartels. Erkko has more than 25 years of experience in public procurement law. He advises both procurement entities and private companies in public procurement issues and has successfully handled more than 200 procurement appeals in the Market Court or the Supreme Administrative Court. Erkko is co-author of a popular handbook on public procurement. He also has extensive experience in matters related to telecom and energy regulation, as well as advertising and marketing law.

Heidi Savolainen (née Hiltunen) specialises in employment law. She counsels domestic and multinational corporations in all variety of employment law issues. Heidi advises corporations in different aspects of employment law relevant to business, attends their internal negotiations when required and represents their interests in litigation.

Jukka Laitasalo is one of the founding partners of our 1992 establised office. Jukka has diverse experience in high-profile and complex litigations as well as in domestic and international arbitration proceedings. He is also known as a specialist in insolvency law.

Jussi Ikonen has vast experience in the legal field. Jussi specialises in commercial litigation and arbitration. He has acted as a counsel in several major domestic and international arbitrations. He also regularly acts as an arbitrator and a mediator. Jussi has extensive knowledge of and experience in a wide variety of cases arising out of e.g. contract law, tort law and liability issues. His practice also includes employment disputes and white-collar crime related matters. Jussi is accredited as a mediator by the Finnish Bar Association, and he lectures regularly on topics related to dispute resolution and liability issues.

Jussi Koivu is an expert in employment and labour law. He has a strong background in cross-border transactions and experience in managing the questions and processes associated with employment law within these transactions. From his previous work in the HR-department of a large corporation, Jussi has sound knowledge of employment law in an international environment. Jussi advises both domestic and international clients on various legal matters associated with employment law, such as contract drafting, cooperation negotiations, industrial disputes and questions related to corporate governance and data protection during employment relationships.

Mika Pakarinen specialises in domestic and international mergers and acquisitions and in demanding litigations and arbitration proceedings. In arbitration proceedings, Mika has acted as both counsel and arbitrator. His practice also includes contract law issues. Mika is a renowned expert in media and marketing law.

Olli Nikitin assists our clients in corporate law and M&A and real estate transaction assignments, as well as in matters related a variety commercial agreements. He has special expertise in matters related to the capital markets and the corporate governance of listed companies. Olli acts as a secretary to the board of directors in several companies.

Sakari Aalto advises domestic and international clients in technology and IPR-transactions. He has been working in-house as the head of licensing and legal at a technology company and has assisted clients in building innovative cooperating based business models. Sakari has an extensive experience on legal issues concerning the rights and delivery of IT-systems, data protection and processing personal information in business. Sakari has been assisting corporate clients in these matters within both traditional and new economy industries.

Sami Tuominen assists both domestic and international clients in tax related matters. Sami is specialized in tax advisory for companies, their owners and operative management. He has extensive experience in M&A tax and structuring. In addition, Sami assists private persons and families in legal questions related to tax, succession, and wealth management. Sami’s clients are e.g. domestic and international listed and unlisted companies, operative management of companies, domestic and foreign banks and their clients, venture capitalists, investment banks, family businesses as well as private persons and their holding companies. Sami has more than 25 years of experience in tax matters, both in the tax administration and in the private sector. He has been recognized as one of Finland’s leading tax experts in international publications. Sami has written a book called “Sukupolvenvaihdoksen verotus” (2010 and 2014) (taxation of change of generation) together with Janne Juusela. Alma Talent publishes the book also as an e-book.

Tetti Kunnas advises clients on matters related to innovation and high tech industries. Such work includes supporting clients in protecting, commercializing and enforcing their rights related to intellectual property rights. In addition, Tetti assists clients through the whole life-cycle of contracts related to IT products and services from preparatory stages to drafting of agreements and eventual completion, termination and if necessary resolving of disputes. Tetti is certified as an information privacy professional (CIPP/E) and assists clients from different sectors in regulatory and contractual matters related to processing of personal data.

Tiina Järvinen specialises in commercial litigation and arbitration. She has acted as a counsel in several major domestic and international arbitrations. Tiina also has versatile experience in labour law and contract law disputes, white-collar crime related matters, and various liability issues. Tiina has experience working as an in-house lawyer due to her previous work experience and secondments in our client companies.

Tommi Elo focuses on banking and finance, real estate and securities transactions as well as mergers and acquisitions. He has been involved in numerous domestic and cross-border financing, real estate, M&A and capital markets transactions. Additionally, Tommi is experienced in insider issues and various licencing and other regulatory processes related to financial markets.

Veli Siitonen is specialised in company and securities law as well as in assignments relating to capital markets. He has in-depth knowledge and experience in listed companies’ corporate law-related assignments. For example, he has participated in preparation of general meetings in numerous listed companies and assisted them in corporate governance assignments. In addition, he has advised clients regularly in merger/demerger processes (including cross-border arrangements), participated in redemption procedures of minority shares (squeeze-out processes) in the roles of both advisor of the majority shareholder and the minority shareholders’ trustee appointed by the court, and acted as a liquidator in connection with liquidation process. Veli assists our clients also in M&A and real estate transactions (including regular advisory relating to leasing of business premises) as well as in matters related to finance. Veli's Master of Science degree in Economics and Business Administration (Accounting and Finance) helps him to understand the client's business and provide solutions that are business-oriented.

William Sjöberg provides advice to our domestic and international clients across various areas, including real estate transactions, asset management services, and corporate law matters. With a track record of involvement in some of Finland's most significant real estate transactions in recent times, William specializes in a real estate-related transactions. This encompasses the entire range of real estate transactions including the sale and purchase of property and housing companies, sale and leaseback arrangements and real estate development projects.
