Career

Niva Barg Livnat is a partner in the firm's Antitrust and Competition Group.

Niva has over 15 years of experience advising on antitrust issues, including serving as a team leader in the Israel Antitrust Authority and representing clients before the Israel Antitrust Authority, the Antitrust Tribunal and the Israeli courts.

Niva has extensive experience in both civil and criminal aspects of antitrust law. Niva regularly advises leading Israeli and foreign companies with respect to a broad range of competition issues, such as restrictive trade practices, mergers and abuse of dominant market positions, including representation in civil claims and class actions regarding antitrust matters. Niva also represents international and local clients with respect to all antitrust aspects of a wide range of transactions, including receipt of permits from the antitrust authorities in Israel and abroad.   

Niva joined Meitar’s Antitrust and Competition Group in November 2013. Prior to joining Meitar, Niva was a partner and head of the antitrust department at a leading law office in Tel Aviv.

Before moving to private practice, Niva worked at the Israel Antitrust Authority, as head of the team covering the agriculture, food and retail sectors. Niva also worked as a criminal prosecutor on behalf of the Antitrust Authority where she led complex legal proceedings.

Niva receives recognition as a leading antitrust practitioner in prominent independent guides, such as Legal 500, Duns100 and The Global Competition Review.
