Senior Associate Alexis is a member of our Capital Markets and Financial Services regulation practice. He is known for his experience and expertise in ECM/DCM transactions and has acted for international and domestic corporate and financial institutions on large-scale equity and debt capital market transactions, including initial and secondary public offerings, private placements and takeover bids of companies listed on the Athens Exchange. Alexis also regularly advises clients on corporate governance and compliance matters and supports international credit and financial institutions, funds and asset managers in relation to the funds offering (UCITS, AIFs) and the provision of banking, investment and payment services. Prior to joining the firm, Alexis was involved in several capital market projects acting for lenders and underwriters, such as banks, funds and institutional investors, as well as for issuers and advised investment firms and other financial institutions on day-to-day issues and complex as well as high-profile transactions, both domestic and international.
Anna Pavlaki
Senior Associate Anna specializes in the fields of corporate and general commercial law. Her practice focuses on dealing with a broad range of corporate, financial and insolvency law issues and corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions and restructurings. Anna participates in legal due diligence reviews and she engages in drafting and negotiating transaction documentation. She advices both national and international private sector clients with regard to day-to-day corporate, banking and regulatory compliance issues, and she has experience in civil and corporate litigation practice and real estate development.

Antonia Rountou
Associate Antonia focuses on corporate, commercial, M&A and banking law. She is engaged in a wide range of multinational M&As and other corporate transactions by carrying out legal due diligence, drafting transactional documentation, and handling related Greek law formalities. Antonia also regularly advises domestic corporate clients and international businesses on corporate and commercial matters of their day-to-day operation, ongoing corporate governance, and compliance with the domestic and EU regulatory framework. Her experience encompasses project finance transactional work on behalf of corporations and credit institutions, such as corporate loans and restructuring. Prior to joining Papapolitis & Papapolitis, Antonia worked on EU competition law matters with a leading US international law firm in Brussels, and provided advisory work for one of the largest express freight companies worldwide. She has also been involved in bank resolution matters at the European Commission.
Senior Associate Athanasia specializes in the field of corporate and general commercial law. Athanasia participates in legal and due diligence reviews, and she engages in drafting and negotiating transaction documentation. She also advises clients on a wide range of topics that relate to the employment sector, regulatory compliance, real estate, and commercial day to day operations.
Christos Pilafas
Of Counsel Christos specializes in the fields of Greek and EU competition law. He provides legal advice on all antitrust and competition related issues including horizontal and vertical agreements (cartels, distribution networks), abuse of dominant position and merger control cases. His practice also includes antitrust compliance for clients. He represents clients before the Hellenic Competition Commission and the Administrative Courts in cases of cartels, abuse of dominance and distribution agreements, as well as merger clearance filings.
Chrysoula Giannopoulou
Senior Associate  Chrysoula specializes in the fields of M&A, corporate and general commercial law. Her practice focuses on dealing with a broad range of M&A transactions, including private equity transactions, acquisitions/disposals of companies or assets and corporate legal due diligences. She also specializes in handling ongoing corporate governance, and drafting & reviewing of commercial contracts.
Partner – Co-Head of Capital Markets and Financial Services Elena Co-Heads our Capital Markets and Financial Services regulation practice. She has acted for international and domestic corporate and financial institutions on large-scale equity and debt capital market transactions, including initial and secondary public offerings, private placements and takeover bids of companies listed on the Athens Exchange. Elena has more than 20 years’ experience in banking and capital markets regulation, funds and corporate governance. She regularly advises international financial institutions and funds houses in relation to foreign funds and, in general, the provision of banking, investment and payment services and the trading of derivatives and off-exchange transactions. Elena is recognized by international legal directories, having been ranked as a Legal 500 “Next Generation Partner, and as a “Highly Regarded Lawyer” by the IFLR 1000. Prior to joining the firm, Elena was a finance and capital markets partner in another major Greek law firm, and she has made numerous publications on relevant banking, capital markets and corporate governance topics.
Elina Kaymenaki
Of Counsel Elina’s area of expertise is Public Law. She has extensive experience representing clients in public law cases, before Greek courts of all instances and the European Court of Human Rights, as well as on a consulting basis. She is mostly experienced in Public Procurement Law, Environmental and Planning Law, EU Law, Tax and Customs Law, Public Finances and Audit Law and Human Rights Law. Elina has represented clients over the course of more than 20 years in major cases of public procurement and public contracts in most sectors, including telecommunications, media licensing, concession contracts, IT services et.c. She has advised corporate and private clients on numerous environmental licensing cases, as well as planning and zoning issues, in the context of complex investment projects. She has also advised several public legal entities on specific cases. Elina is a founding Member of the Editorial Board of the Law Journal «Theory and Praxis of Public Law» and has contributed in many publications in the field of public law. She has also taught Training Seminars to candidates for the Greek School of Judges since 2014.
Elmina Chadio
Partner Elmina specializes in the fields of company and commercial law. She has been involved in a number of M&A deals, including joint ventures, corporate restructurings and corporate transformations. Evi Tsilou
Partner – Head of Corporate and M&A Evi’s expertise lies in advising on the structuring, negotiation, documentation and implementation of complex, cross-border and local, corporate, capital markets, and finance transactions. George Gravias
Partner George has over 25 years of experience in safeguarding his clients’ interests in the disputes which arise in the course of their business activities. Maria Karabella

Maria-Roxani Karydi
Associate Maria-Roxani regularly advises on Capital Markets, Finance and Banking matters. Her core practice areas are debt and equity issuances and public offerings, structured finance and securitizations, secured finance (loans/collateral packages over all types of assets), public and private M&A (including takeover regulations) and securities regulatory (including the rules on listing, investment, trading, prospectus, transparency and market abuse). In Luxembourg and Frankfurt, Maria-Roxani gained understanding of funds (UCITS, AIFs), central securities depositories and banking regulation. Maria-Roxani supports issuers, underwriters, lenders and agents in bond offerings and bond restructurings (including high yield), securitizations, secured financings and re-financings, as well as distressed and leveraged finance deals (including term loans and PIK loans). Before joining the firm, Maria-Roxani was an Associate (International Debt Capital Markets) at the Luxembourg office of the leading US law firm, Hogan Lovells.
Senior Associate Martha has been practicing law for over 22 years. She has extensive experience in litigation, representing clients in a wide range of judicial proceedings before all types of courts. Her areas of specialization include disputes arising from corporate issues, commercial transactions, contractual relationships, as well as civil and insurance claims. She has also been active in legal consultation and has participated in various out-of-court settlements of disputes. Martha has teaching experience as a lecturer in civil and trade law in Academic Institutions in Greece and in Cyprus.
Nicholas Papapolitis
Managing Partner Nicholas is widely recognized as an expert in foreign direct investments in Greece. Nicholas has advised in recent years institutional investors on large-scale, complex credit, equity and capital markets transactions. He has acted in many of the landmark M&A, finance and capital markets transactions to have taken place in the Greek market in recent years. Nicholas currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of FAMAR AVE and as a member of the Board of Directors of One & Only Resorts (Kea), Ygia Polyclinic Hospital, Intracom Properties and Intracom Ventures. He has also held in the past Board of Directors positions of leading corporations and institutions such as the Intralot Group, Prodea REIC, Invel Real Estate Partners and the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce where he was the Chair of the Investment and Finance Committee of the Chamber. Panayiotis Papageorgiou
Counsel Panayiotis has extensive experience in litigation, arbitration and mediation disputes arising from corporate and commercial transactions and contractual relationships, with a specialisation in taxation and intellectual property disputes. He has a substantial real estate practice and advises on real estate investment trusts (REITs) and other investments, tax-free and taxable acquisitions with cross border components, development and construction projects in this sector.
