The firm: Gramatskiy and Partners was founded in 1998. From the moment of its establishment the firm perceived business legal practice as its own professional vocation, as well as a mission of serving the public. The firm’s unique expertise today allows Gramatskiy and Partners to advise hundreds of Ukrainian and foreign companies, providing them with complex aid and assistance in legal matters, combining classic legal practice traditions with modern international standards of legal services.

Mr Ernest Gramatskiy, the founder and president of Gramatskiy and Partners, has been representing the unique philosophy and style of the firm for many years. He forms its strategy and carries out the most important projects in court practice, foreign investments and international trade, business restructuring and company law. Mr Gramatskiy combines legal practice with fundamental science and teaching activity (chair of civil law, Kiev National Taras Shevchenko University). He is the founder and curator of many national and international projects on entrepreneurship and the defence of public liberties.

The firm has recently advised on or was involved in the following projects: legal advice and support concerning reconstruction of the European Square (one of the central squares in Kyiv) and construction of a multistorey office and hotel complex Stolychnyi; construction and certification process of the trade centre Bazar in Lisova, Kyiv, including all contracts with architects, contractors and subcontractors, all permissions and approvals from all government and municipal institutions and authorities, amounting to $7m; construction of a residential complex with in-built premises of public significance located at Anri Barbyusa street, Kyiv, including all contracts with architects, contractors and subcontractors, all permissions and approvals from all government and municipal institutions and authorities, amounting to $130m; construction of a residential complex with in-built premises of public significance located at Popudrenka Street, Kyiv, including all contracts with architects, contractors and subcontractors, all permissions and approvals from all government and municipal institutions and authorities, amounting to $148m; advising on issues dealing with allocation of input VAT credits between taxable and exempt supplies, amounting to $3m; advising a client on Ukrainian regulation of transfer pricing and implementation of OECD transfer pricing guideline, including transactions between the client and foreign companies incorporated in low-tax jurisdictions (as listed by the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers), amounting to $2m.
