Career
Graduating in 2006, Gabriele trained in a local firm in Turin, where he qualified as a lawyer in 2009. He then joined Pavia e Ansaldo in 2011, where he became partner in 2022 and in the same year he was also admitted to practice in front of Italian Supreme Court. He is registered as an attorney before the Unified Patent Court (2023).
Gabriele is an energetic and modern IP lawyer, repeatedly ranked as one of the best young lawyers in Italy for IP and Life Sciences (he’s now 40).
He has gained significant experience in Life Sciences, Fashion, IT, Mechanics and Household (with a focus on pharmaceutical/biotech patents and SPC, trademarks, software, trade secrets, design) facing some of the most relevant current issues and debates in the field.
Used to act alongside foreign clients and counsels in pan-European and American litigation, his activities often encompass on-site inspections and raids in the course of anti-counterfeiting procedure, including ex parte discoveries, injunctions and seizures.
He also participated to tens of M&A operations, advising and negotiating on IP-rich transactions.

Former IP contributor for one the most well-known Italian law review “Giurisprudenza Italiana”, commenting on both European (e.g. Case C-428/08 – Monsanto; Case C-127/09 – Coty Prestige, Case T-402/07 – Arcol-Capol) and national decisions.
Wrote a final LL.M. dissertation thesis on “Interface between patent expiration and trademark protection with special attention to the pharmaceutical market”, then published in Wipo Collection of Research papers, 2007, 361.
He is now a contributor and former “Guest Kat” with the internationally renowned IP Blog The IPKat and regular speaker at IP conferences and university courses (LUISS).
