Alexander Garrett

Alexander Garrett is an Associate in the Holmes & Hills Family Law Department. Carol Toulson

Carol Toulson is a Partner and head of the Holmes & Hills’ Family Law Department. Carol deals with Holmes & Hills’ most complex Family Law cases; her expertise covers all aspects of Family and Matrimonial Law, including complex children act proceedings often involving aggravating factors such as mental health issues, domestic violence, as well as drug and alcohol abuse. Chris Milner

Chris is a Senior Associate in the Holmes & Hills Commercial Property Department and lead for the specialist Land and Development Division therein. Chris is a specialist land and development solicitor, he works in collaboration with clients to facilitate development opportunities. Chris advises and represents the firm's developer, landowner, and land promoter clients in all legal matters relating to land assets and development projects. Chris leads on the provision of strategic advice covering reviewing, negotiating, drafting, and exercising complex development agreements, including option agreements, conditional contracts, consortium agreements, joint venture agreements and land promotion agreements. Chris is also regularly dealing with complex development funding and multi-layered funding facilities, agreements and deeds relating to utilities, acquisition, and sale of land for development, strategic advice concerning land assets and carrying out full due diligence of land and resolution of issues acting as barriers to potential development.

George French

George is a Solicitor in the firm’s Commercial Property Department and a member of the specialist Land and Development Division therein. George is a specialist land and development solicitor, and supports the more senior members of the Division in the provision of services to landowners and regional developers. George acts on matters such as: Development site acquisition Negotiation, drafting, re-negotiation, and exercise of complex development agreements, including overage, join-venture, promotion, consortium, and option agreements. Jason Brady

Jason Brady is Partner and Head of the firm’s Clinical Negligence and Serious Injury department. As Head of the department, Jason’s caseload consists of the firms most high value and complex cases, often involving serious life-shortening or life-limiting injuries and illnesses. In particular, Jason specialises in cases relating to complex birth injuries -both those arising to mother and/or baby, where the impact on individuals and their families is profound. Jason also handles cases relating to head and brain injuries, in instances where the individual may have limited capacity with a Litigation Friend acting on behalf of the claimant. Additionally, Jason’s caseload includes amputation claims, often in instances whereby the individual is no longer able to work, or where there are multiple complexities surrounding the claim. Jason has built strong relationships in order to create a national network of medical experts and counsel to support each case as appropriate.

Jo Lilliott

Jo Lilliott is a Senior Solicitor and s106 and highways specialist. She is renowned for specialising in cases involving complex s106 agreements. Jo also deals with matters involving Highways Law, drainage agreements and public rights of way. Jo has valuable experience in advising local planning authorities, developers, and landowners, negotiating and drafting complex s106 agreements including those relating to large residential development.

Lawrence Pearce

Lawrence Pearce is a Partner in the Holmes & Hills' Construction Division. Lawrence works with main contractors, sub-contractors, contract managers and construction professionals on claims relating to construction contracts and project. Not only does Lawrence have an extremely successful record of advising and representing clients in respect of Adjudication claims. Michael Harman

Michael Harman is a Partner in Holmes & Hills Planning Law Department and head of the Compulsory Purchase and Development Consent Division therein. Michael is an expert in providing strategic, contentious Planning Law advice covering a variation of planning obligations, planning appeals and challenges of planning permission by way of Judicial Review. Whilst an expert in advising and representing clients on all strategic and contentious Planning Law matters, Michael is also a specialist compulsory purchase solicitor and has particular specialist expertise in regard to blight claims, Compulsory Purchase Orders and Development Consent Orders and advises property and landowners, business owners and local authorities affected by large scale infrastructure projects.

Rebecca Mason

Rebecca is Managing Partner and head of the firms Commercial Departments as well as being the firm's lead development and land solicitor. Rebecca advises and represents the firm's developer and land-owning clients in their negotiations for sales, acquisitions, and in the formation of complex development agreements. Rebecca is well respected by clients, investors, landowners, developers, land promoters and business owners across East Anglia, as well as by regional professionals providing ancillary professional services, such as land agents.

Sam Bawden

Sam Bawden is a Partner, as well as being head of the firm’s Dispute Resolution Department and Construction Division. As a specialist construction solicitor, 100% of Sam’s caseload reflects his specialism in Construction Law. Daily, Sam works on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious Construction Law matters, working with developers, main contractors, sub-contractors, builders, and trade persons. Sam is highly experienced in adjudication, arbitration and dispute resolution, Sam also advises on contracts and terms and conditions as well as payment disputes, defective work, extensions of time and loss and expense claims and collateral warranties. Sarah Hare

Sarah Hare is a Senior Associate and s106 specialist. Sarah acts for a wide range of clients in the public and private sector. Her expertise and knowledge mean that Sarah can advise on all aspects of general Planning Law and has a particular focus and specialism on negotiating and drafting s106 agreements as well as statutory highways, drainage agreements and other infrastructure agreements. Sarah also specialises in public rights of way and village green, and commons matters. Sarah regularly advises developers on large scale developments - advising on, negotiating, and drafting complex s106 agreements – many of which are not ‘the norm’. Moreover, Sarah will overcome challenges such as stopping-up highways.

Steven Hopkins

Steven Hopkins is Managing Partner and alongside this Steven head’s the firm’s Planning Law Department. Steven is a specialist Planning Law solicitor, and unique in the region, having a background which has, since the early days of his training contract, straddled Planning Law, Contentious Property Law, as well as civil and criminal court proceedings.
