Florian Haugeneder is a Partner at KNOETZL. He has more than 15 years’ extensive experience as counsel and arbitrator under the rules of the major arbitral institutions, including the ICC, ICSID, SCC, LCIA and VIAC, as well as in international and domestic ad-hoc arbitration such as UNCITRAL. Florian has represented clients in some of the largest and most complex disputes in the CEE and SEE regions. A special focus of his practice involves international law on the protection of foreign investments under bilateral and multilateral investment protection treaties. Florian specializes in engineering and construction, energy, joint ventures, as well as commercial and corporate disputes. His experience includes numerous M&A projects, hotel management contracts, the construction and operation of a major fiber-optic cable infrastructure, a large IT outsourcing project, various thermal and hydro power plants, international gas transportation and storage, banking and finance, highway and rail construction and replacement, and a water and sewer system. Florian has advised on a large number of FIDIC contracts.
Katrin Hanschitz is a partner at KNOETZL and has been so since the firm’s establishment.  She is an experienced first-chair litigator with a strong background in M&A and finance transactions and ancillary disputes. She advocates for predominantly multi-national clients in all forms of shareholder and investment disputes, manager liability and disputed M&A transactions, as well as contentious insurance, financing, international trade (B2B, B2C, distribution) and international insolvency issues, with a particular focus on the social media, life sciences (product liability), banking, construction and energy industries.
Natascha Tunkel is a Partner at KNOETZL and applies over 15 years of experience in the field of complex dispute resolution in her practice, guiding clients through initiation of proceedings to enforcement of decisions. She is not only recognized as counsel and arbitrator, but also as mediator and mediation counsel. As Head of Investigations at KNOETZL, Natascha directs sophisticated and complete analysis of high-volume data to establish relevant facts for purposes of risk evaluation, document classification, analysis of legal action, and asset tracing. Her experience in handling large-scale complex cases as well as her strong commercial acumen enable Natascha to capably identify the relevant issues and potential vulnerabilities of a case. Patrizia Netal is a partner at KNOETZL. Patrizia has extensive experience as counsel and arbitrator in institutional and ad-hoc arbitration proceedings (including the Rules of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Rules of Arbitration of the VIAC (Vienna Rules), the German Institution of Arbitration (DIS), the Swiss Rules of International Arbitration and UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules). Her practice has a particular focus on large-scale construction projects and engineering across the CEE region, M&A projects, aviation, energy, and international sales disputes. Since 2022 Patrizia is vice-president of the Vienna International Arbitral Centre (VIAC). She lectures at the Austrian Arbitration Academy and is a faculty member of the Delos Remote Oral Advocacy Programme (“ROAP”).
Thomas is a partner at KNOETZL and heads the firm’s White-Collar Crime Department. He focuses his practice on business crime matters, asset recovery and international litigation. Expert in all areas of white-collar crime, Thomas has in-depth experience in representing corporate, governmental and high net worth individual clients through criminal proceedings and related civil cases, especially in aggressive pursuit of injured parties compensation for damages due to embezzlement, fraud and money laundering. Some of Thomas’s cases have been high in profile, requiring a sometimes-delicate handling of the press. Thomas also routinely acts as defense counsel and advises on major criminal investigations for individuals and international corporations, inter alia involving allegations of price-fixing, bribery, serious fraud or bankruptcy offences. Thomas regularly publishes articles and academic works on subjects concerning corporate criminal liability, anti-trust offences and leniency programs.
