Career

With a legal career spanning over two decades, Kathryn has significant experience on contentious and non-contentious matters. She acts for both SMEs and employees in trying to resolve disputes, but is willing to resort to legal proceedings when necessary.

Acting for both employees and employers, Kathryn has a wealth of experience of dealing with Employment Tribunals. She advises on maternity and parental rights, redundancies and whistleblowing claims and provides advice on drafting and interpreting employment contracts, as well as a range of day to day HR matters, boardroom disputes and restrictive covenants.

Kathryn has a particular interest in negotiating exits for senior employees and advising on shares and share options. She regularly advises both employers and employees on their contracts and, in particular, the enforceability of post termination restrictions. She has experience of injunctions for both sides in connection with the enforceability of all types of non-competition clauses. She recently made a successful application for an injunction for a large organisation who were seeking to prevent a departing employee from stealing their confidential information.

Kathryn has led teams in negotiating settlement agreements worth several million pounds for multiple employees, against blue chip company employers.

She has experience in advising and representing clients on internal compliance matters, in particular in connection with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and other medical professional bodies.

She also works within the Business Immigration group at the firm.
