SALOMONE SANSONE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY CONSULTANCY AND LAW OFFICE
About
SALOMONE SANSONE is a family-run law firm, the origins of which date back to 1947 when the Hon Walter Salomone set up his practice in the field of intellectual property consultancy. He was assisted by his son, Albert W Salomone, who succeeded him in 1973 and re-named the firm A.W. Salomone & Co. During the 1990s it was further re-styled and re-named Salomone, Sansone & Co. Since 2008, it has been headed by Albert’s grandson Dr Luigi A Sansone, an expert in the field of intellectual property law. The practice, now named SALOMONE SANSONE, is operated from premises situated in Valletta, Malta’s historic capital city and a world heritage site, housing both the law courts as well as the office of the Comptroller of Industrial Property. To date, we are the only law firm in Malta that specializes exclusively in intellectual property law.
Our legal department handles all matters relating to intellectual property (IP) including, but not limited to, devising strategies for businesses through the provision of information on how best to protect one’s IP, as well as conducting availability checks among the applicable registers for trademarks, patents and designs (as appropriate), both locally as well as internationally.
Additionally, our legal department handles the enforcement of intellectual property rights, which includes out of court settlements as well as litigation, with a great portion of our cases relating to anti-counterfeiting matters and trademark infringement matters.
Moreover, the preparation, filing and prosecution of trademarks, patents and designs, as well as the maintenance of registered trademarks, patents and designs are handled by our administration department, together with the assistance of our legal team, where necessary.
At SALOMONE SANSONE, we endeavor to provide quality, cost-effective and reliable services to our numerous clients hailing from different time zones and cultures; to this end, we are available virtually 24 hours a day, throughout the year with no exception.
