Career

Valentina joined the firm in 2018 as a legal intern, where she handled trademark, patent and design clearance matters.  She is now a Junior Lawyer within the legal department and her role encompasses multifaceted responsibilities, with a primary focus on trademark enforcement and prosecution, including anti-counterfeiting and litigation before judicial and administrative authorities.

Valentina collaborates closely with authorities such as the Malta Customs Intellectual Property Rights Units to combat counterfeit activities and also represents various clients in Court proceedings.

English, Maltese and Italian.

Memberships

Member of the European Communities Trademark Association (ECTA),  the International Trade Mark Association (INTA) and the Pharmaceutical Trade Marks Group (PTMG).

Education

Valentina completed her Bachelor of Laws degree in 2020 at the University of Malta.  During her bachelor's degree, she spent a semester studying at the University of Zurich as part of the exchange programme, where she focused on commercial law and international trade law.  Valentina's dissertation focused on counterfeit goods in transit within the context of EU law and Maltese law.  In 2021, Valentina completed the Master of Advocacy degree at the University of Malta and went on to obtain her warrant to practice law in 2022.
