The firm:��The firm was established October 1st 2018 by Soffia Eydis Bjorgvinsdottir, Jonas Rafn Tomasson and Agust Karl Gudmundsson, attorneys at law. The law firm was formed from the Tax & Legal department of KPMG Iceland member firm. The main areas of practice are tax and legal services. KPMG Law ehf. is unique in the Icelandic legal market because we can provide a one stop shop for corporations, growth companies and individuals by offering our clients multi-disciplinary and multi-jurisdiction legal support.

Areas of practice: We provide holistic and integrated legal solutions for our clients and offer a wide range of legal services and have a great team of specialists that can assist in the general field of commercial law.

We assist clients with a range of M&A tax services, due diligence process as well as general legal advisory. We have extensive experience of advising on mergers and acquisitions, investment arrangements, corporate restructurings as well as a broad range of experts in the field of international tax, such as advisory on transfer pricing, tax treaties and related services.

Our multidisciplinary practice-oriented approach enables consideration of economic, technological and tax aspects and the option of engaging relevant specialists to provide insight and answers to any questions that may arise. We assess the tax impact of transactions for our clients and ensure that the result is examined in terms of tax implications.

International trade and cross-border activities:
We serve companies and investors in their international operations and foreign investments and ensure that parties have access to appropriate advice and services based on the different requirements made in the countries in question.

M&A and corporate law:
Our highly experienced multidisciplinary consulting team supports our clients with M&A transactions, joint ventures, domestic and international corporate restructuring or recovery projects.

Company law:
We serve and advise parties in connection with acquisitions, sales or mergers of companies, while looking after legal interests and also ensuring a holistic approach with other experts, e.g. in the areas of finance, valuation and operations.

Compliance:
We are well aware of legal requirements for compliance in various areas and countries, such as privacy, anti-money laundering measures, FATCA disclosure, etc.

Other legal services:
We provide other specialized legal advice to the business community and investors in legal fields such as; Competition law, Inheritance law, Labor and Contractor law and Administrative law.
