Position
Kerstin specialises in birth and maternal injury claims, cerebral palsy and catastrophic injury cases, with a focus on complex and high value claims.
Although based in our Bath and Bristol offices, she works with clients across the country, including London. Her main areas of expertise relate to hypoxic birth injury, cord prolapse, meningitis and Group B Strep infection related injuries. Kerstin also specialises in cases involving cardiology and delays in diagnosis of neurological cancers.
After joining RWK Goodman in 2009, Kerstin nuanced her practice area to focus mainly in obstetric and neonatal cases, representing children and young adults who suffered neurological injuries before, during or after their birth. Kerstin works closely with chartered legal executive Abigail Ringer in progressing large and complex cases.
Kerstin also specialises in inquest cases, focusing on medical negligence related deaths and also those involving Article II of the Human Rights Act. Kerstin works closely with Ali Cloak on a number of high profile inquest cases.
Her experience of medical negligence claims includes:
- wrongful birth claims and additional costs of raising a disabled child
- Ogilvie Syndrome claims
- complex cardiology claims
- Erb’s Palsy cases relating to mismanaged shoulder dystocia
- claims regarding delays in diagnosis of cancer.
Kerstin has both AvMA and Law Society Clinical Negligence Panel Accreditations.

She has also been credited by fellow solicitors as “ambitious, tenacious and visible“.
The Legal 500 UK also celebrate Kerstin, who “stands out for her ‘exceptional analysis'".
