Position

Martin joined Babbé LLP as a Partner in the Disputes & Risk team.

Career

Martin specialises in complex local and international commercial litigation including trust and regulatory matters, cross-border fraud claims, multi-jurisdictional insolvency matters, asset tracing and contract and tort claims. He also has substantial experience in property, construction disputes and dealing with data protection issues. His clients have included regulated businesses and high net worth individuals and families.

Martin has significant local and international experience, having practised for more than 20 years. Prior to joining Babbé, he practised commercial litigation in Guernsey at two leading international offshore law firms for almost 10 years and then was a founding partner of another locally based law firm. Before moving to Guernsey in 2006, he qualified as a solicitor of England and Wales (currently non-practising) in September 1999 and practised at Masons (now Pinsent Masons) and a boutique commercial litigation practice based in London before moving to the Cayman Islands in 2003.

Martin is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), a member of INSOL and the International Bar Association and an overseas member of the Chancery Bar Association.
