David Lawne, a Solicitor Advocate and Partner at Hausfeld London, offers some 15 years’ experience in complex, high value commercial disputes, including banking and insolvency litigation, cross-border contractual disputes and competition damages claims.

David has played a lead role on many of our most important financial services and banking disputes.  Case highlights include the FX cartels collective action (the first carriage dispute before the CAT), Leeds City Council & Ors v Barclays Bank plc, Stuart Wall v Royal Bank of Scotland, Premier Motor Auctions v Lloyds Bank and PwC and Graiseley Properties & Ors v Barclays Bank plc, widely recognised as a “test case” for LIBOR misrepresentation claims.

In the area of competition law, David has acted for claimants in a number of follow-on cartel damages claims, including claims brought in the English High Court in relation to the Paraffin Wax and Marine Hose cartels. As part of our environmental practice, David played a key role in the Save the Children's intervention in Duarte Agostinho & 5 Others v Portugal & 32 Others before the European Court of Human Rights, highlighting the impact of climate change on children and on their right to safety/prosperous future.
