Associate. Dasha’s practice encompasses a broad range of intellectual property matters, including trademarks, copyrights, domain names, unfair competition and patents. Dasha regularly litigates disputes in federal and state courts, and has extensive experience with contested proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and with UDRP domain name dispute proceedings before the World Intellectual Property Organization.  At the same time, she is skilled at resolving disputes in creative and cooperative ways, both within and outside the context of legal proceedings. In addition to handling adversarial matters, Dasha advises clients on the clearance, prosecution, registration, management and enforcement of trademarks and domain names.  Her litigation background also allows her to counsel her clients with a view to avoiding unnecessary controversies while protecting valuable rights. Dasha works with a wide variety of clients, including fashion and lifestyle companies, start-ups, hotels and restaurants, wine and food businesses, charitable organizations, technology firms, and many others.

In addition, Jeffrey handles domestic enforcement issues and represents clients in contested proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. As a former Trademark Examining Attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, he has extensive experience in managing and resolving substantive and procedural issues pertaining to trademark prosecution.  Jeffrey has spoken on topics of interest to trademark owners, including concerning complex USPTO refusals, securing trademarks rights as part of business formation, recent changes in USPTO trademark practice, and international filing strategies.

Jonathan King is a Partner and former long-time Chair and Executive Committee Member of the Firm. He has handled intellectual property litigations in a wide range of industries, including music, fashion, sports, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, software, advertising, licensing, publishing and various consumer products. His practice encompasses the full gamut of intellectual property subjects, including trademarks, copyright, trade secrets and the licensing of intellectual property. He regularly tries copyright and trademark infringement cases in the federal courts and handles opposition and cancellation actions before the Trademark Trial Appeal Board. Mr. King’s engagements have included a number of landmark intellectual property matters, including some of the first cases involving the use of trademarks as internet keywords, online liability for linking to pirated materials, and the application of copyright law to the “resale” of digital files. He also has extensive experience in the use of consumer surveys in Lanham Act litigation. Among others, he has represented The Donna Karan Company, the Recording Industry Association of America, Capitol Records, Sanofi-Aventis Pharmaceuticals, Major League Baseball Properties, and the National Audubon Society.

Counsel.  Tom Kjellberg practices in the areas of copyright, right of publicity and trademark law and represents companies large and small in copyright licensing and other transactions, litigation and enforcement matters.  He asserts, and defends against, copyright infringement claims by photographers, fine artists and composers, and has participated in the drafting of amicus curiae briefs on behalf of major copyright holders, including the RIAA, the MPAA and Sony Computer Entertainment America.  Tom also speaks and writes frequently on copyright and related issues, and for many years has been the chief author of the Annual Review of Copyright Decisions published each year in the Journal of the Copyright Society of the USA and delivered at the Copyright Society’s annual meeting. Tom is a past Trustee of the Society. He also is co-author of the Copyright Law columns regularly published in the New York Law Journal.

Senior Counsel.  Bill has handled domestic and international trademark and copyright matters at the highest level for over 60 years.  He has counseled and represented clients on domestic and international trademark matters concerning clearance, registration, proper use, licensing, contested administrative proceedings and infringement claims.  He became Senior Counsel in January 2024 and is now focusing on providing guidance and advice to other lawyers within our firm and writing informative and engaging articles on intellectual property law developments.
