Karina Zielińska-Piątkowska is an advocate and an Associate in the IP/TMC practice at CMS, which she joined in December 2013.

Karina specialises in intellectual property issues and unfair competition with an emphasis on the protection of trademarks, industrial designs and patents.

Her experience includes advising on protection of intellectual property rights, preparing court pleadings and conducting court proceedings concerning infringements of industrial property rights and acts of unfair competition, advising on structuring copyright transfer agreements, as well as advising on combatting the sale of counterfeit products and conducting criminal proceedings in this respect.

She is also an expert in the field of personal data and privacy protection. The experience she has acquired includes preparation of internal policies compliant with GDPR, drafting agreements between data controllers and data processors, as well as assistance with employment-related data protection cases. Karina has also participated in numerous due diligence projects on personal data protection.
