Partner, Head of Competition and IP

Nevena is a Counsel at CMS Sofia and a key lawyer in our Commercial practice. She is one of CMS Sofia's most experienced commercial lawyers and Head of the Competition and IP practice.

Nevena has expertise in merger control and merger clearance, anti-trust and compliance matters, unfair competition. She is the coordinator of the CEE Competition Group of CMS.

Nevena advises clients on a wide range of commercial, regulatory and data protection matters, including IP rights, domain name and trade mark infringement disputes (copyright and trade mark clearance procedures), infringement analysis, marketing and advertising campaigns related advice for commercial clients. She is also experienced with respect to issues relating to suppliers’ and distribution contracts, agreements with end clients, licensing, distribution and franchising agreements, unauthorised and parallel imports.

Nevena has significant experience in advising clients from different sectors on data protection projects. Her experience includes GDPR compliance, advice on complex schemes of data transfers among entities in multi-national organisations, representing clients before the Bulgarian Personal Data Protection Commission.

Nevena has been awarded a Practice Diploma in International Antitrust Law by the International Bar Association and the College of Law of England and Wales.  She is a registered IP attorney for Bulgaria and the EU.
