Career

Gizeh Polo mainly specializes in national and international transactions involving issues and offers of securities, debt and structured instruments, as well as in structured financing, restructuring and related regulatory aspects, and regulatory aspects relating to the Mexican financial system in general. His experience includes advising on various innovative structures (often the first of their kind) on the Mexican market.

Before joining Cuatrecasas in Mexico City, he worked at leading national law firms and as an international attorney at the New York offices of Shearman & Sterling LLP, where he handled securities market transactions in New York, London and other jurisdictions, and advised on developing and financing infrastructure and energy projects in Latin America.

He is author of a book on the general theory of law and the judicial role. As an author, he also contributed to a compilation of works paying tribute to José Ramón Cossío Díaz, a retired Mexican minister. He regularly contributes to World Bank publications and has published several law review articles in Milenio Diario and Letras Libres.

Gizeh is a professor at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) for graduate and undergraduate law students.

He is a member of the board of directors of the Colegio de Abogados Egresados del ITAM (CAEITAM).
