He represents clients from various industries, particularly the food, telecommunications, media/social media and automotive industries. He assists clients in negotiating on and arranging the transfer of trade mark and patent portfolios, collaboration and R&D agreements, licensing agreements and technology transfers.

Diederik has experience in all areas of European and Dutch competition law. Diederik has extensive experience with complex merger control issues, including second phase proceedings at both the European Commission and the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets. He also assisted companies during dawn raids. Diederik submitted leniency applications to these authorities besides working on cartel investigations and proceedings. He advised companies on co-operation and distribution agreements and allegations of abuse of a dominant position. Diederik is familiar with the ins and outs of competition law in various sectors. Seconded to Shell as antitrust counsel he gained experience with competition law in the oil and gas industry. He also has in depth knowledge of the healthcare and pharmaceutical sector. In 2010 and 2011 he was employed as a regulator by the Dutch Healthcare Authority. He is a frequent speaker and contributor to journals on competition law. Martijn van de Hel has comprehensive experience of European and Dutch competition law. He has advised businesses in many sectors on different forms of collaboration such as joint ventures, distribution and franchise agreements and purchasing combinations. He also has considerable experience in leniency applications and with dawn raids and cartel investigations by the Authority for Consumers & Markets (ACM) and the European Commission. He is an experienced advisor on cartel-related damage claims (follow-on claims). Martijn has advised many businesses and public bodies on state aid and unfair competition from the government. He has supported many companies in notifying the ACM and the European Commission of mergers or takeovers. He lectures frequently at seminars and training institutes and has penned numerous articles. Martijn was a partner at Boekel De Nerée before becoming a co-founder of Maverick Advocaten N.V.
