Westerberg & Partners
Therese specializes in commercial arbitration and litigation in which she has more than 20 years’ experience. Much of her work is international, in court and arbitration. She regularly serves as sole, chair and party-appointed arbitrator. Experienced from many industry sectors, she has particular focus on international trade, construction, energy, often with an East-West angle, post-M&A and insurance. She has handled several significant cases concerning the set-aside or annulment of arbitral awards and enforcement proceedings in Sweden, often acting for or against sovereign entities.
Roschier
Partner Johan Sidklev heads Roschier’s Dispute Resolution practice and is the co-Head of the Corporate Investigations & Compliance practice in Sweden. Johan is specialized in commercial dispute resolution with extensive experience from international arbitration, often concerning energy-related disputes involving parties from Russia or CIS-countries. He has acted as counsel in some of the world’s largest arbitrations seated in Stockholm, London and Paris involving oil, gas and construction matters. In the area of investment arbitration Johan has experience from arbitrator’s appointments as well as advising both private investors and various governments as counsel, inter alia in matters concerning the Energy Charter Treaty and various bilateral investment treaties. Johan is the presiding President of the Swedish Arbitration Association (SAA) and a member of the board of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC). He recently served on the Rules Revision Committee for the new 2017 SCC Rules. He is appointed by the Kingdom of Sweden to the ICSID Panel of Arbitrators, maintained by the World Bank. He also serves on the Legal Advisory Task Force on Investment Protection at the Energy Charter Secretariat and he is an Executive Committee Member of the Russian and CIS Arbitration Network (RCAN). Johan has been the Headmaster of the SCC/SAA Arbitrator Training Program and has been a long-standing board member of Young Arbitrators Sweden. Johan is regularly appointed as arbitrator in both national and international disputes. He is also frequently engaged as speaker and moderator at various conferences and is lecturing on international arbitration and investment protection law at Stockholm University.

Partner Johan is leading the way as head of Setterwalls’ Dispute Resolution Group in Stockholm, focusing his practice on international and domestic arbitration and litigation. His areas of expertise include joint venture, M&A, shareholders’, sales, distribution and investment disputes in the manufacturing, tele-communications, banking and transport sectors. Johan also handles contentious corporate matters such as directors’ liability, ‘piercing of the corporate veil’ for directors and shareholders, formal annulment of corporate resolutions, and shareholders’ disputes. Additionally, Johan acts as an arbitrator in both domestic and international disputes. Beyond the courtroom, Johan shares his wealth of knowledge by regularly holding lectures on various dispute-related topics at Stockholm University. Johan is a member of the Swedish Arbitration Association (SAA) where he serves as a member of the Executive Committee. He is also a member of the International Bar Association (IBA).

Carl Persson is a Partner whose practice encompasses domestic and international commercial arbitration, as well as litigation. Carl has a dual degree in law and economics and specializes in disputes relating to M&A transactions, securities and finance, director and auditor liability and white-collar crime proceedings. He has acted as counsel in a significant number of arbitration and litigation proceedings in these areas. He also has extensive experience of energy-related disputes with an East-West angle. Carl’s work experience includes working as a Foreign Associate in the litigation department of Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP in New York.

Partner Shirin Saif is a  member of the Dispute Resolution practice. She is an experienced commercial arbitration practitioner and litigator and her primary focus is international disputes involving complex technologies. Shirin has acted as counsel in telecommunications, construction and infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, product liability, IT, oil and gas, post-M&A, and various other commercial disputes before numerous judicial and arbitral bodies in Sweden and abroad. She also has significant experience as counsel in investment treaty arbitrations. Along with acting as counsel, Shirin also acts as an arbitrator and administrative secretary.

As well as arbitration, he has dealt with disputes in all instances of the Swedish courts for civil procedure, including the Supreme Court.
