Andrew Knight

Andrew specialises in commercial landlord and tenant, development, and investment sales. Andrew has acted for occupiers in taking leases of all types of real estate ranging from shopping centre units, industrial warehouses, and city centre office space. His deals include the lettings of Urbis to the National Football Museum, leases to supermarkets, and the opening of a retailer’s flagship store in Regent Street.  Additionally, Andrew advises landlords on the management of their property portfolios, as well as negotiating the acquisition and disposal of industrial estates, mixed use developments, and office parks, including the sale of Piccadilly Gateway (the “lazy s” building adjacent to Manchester Piccadilly Railway Station). Anthony Hardy

Ayesha Griffin

Ayesha advises on a wide range of family law issues resulting for the breakdown of relationships, primarily relating to divorce and matrimonial financial disputes. Ayesha also advises on all private law children matters particularly to resolve disputes regarding children of separated parents, such as where the children will live and the amount of time a parent spends with the child, and financial provisions for children under Schedule 1. Having previously worked across our commercial and residential property departments, Ayesha is able to advise clients using sound commercial judgment whilst also being committed to reaching a workable solution without unduly increasing any conflict.

Bruce Jones

Bruce Jones is a partner at Kuits and is one of a handful of people in the country who are both qualified as a chartered and European patent attorney, and also admitted as a solicitor. Bruce’s singular combination of skills enables him to act for clients throughout the full intellectual property lifecycle and across the full spectrum of intellectual property rights. His practice encompasses acting for both claimant and defendant in all forms of IP disputes, with particular experience in multi-jurisdictional patent and trademark disputes. Caroline Brennan

Caroline is a specialist commercial and non-contentious intellectual property lawyer and partner in the Commercial and Intellectual Property department. Areas of expertise Caroline provides advice to clients on a broad range of areas including: all types of commercial arrangements, including research and product development, manufacturing and routes to market; the strategic protection and exploitation of intellectual property rights, in particular know how and confidential information, trade marks and copyright; and use of technology for the delivery of products and services. She has a extensive experience of commercial rights in sport including sponsorship, image rights, endorsements, brand licensing and activation at both a deal-specific and a strategic level as well as a specialism in brand protection and exploitation. Caroline has a wealth of experience both in private practice and in-house means that she can offer well-honed technical skills in the context of a pragmatic, strategic and highly commercial response. Christopher Hardy

Chris specialises in all aspects of commercial property, including acquisitions, sales, and drafting and negotiating commercial leases for a number of significant mainstream clients. Chris also has a background acting for lenders in respect of loans in connection with acquisition or re-mortgage of property including development land, investment property, commercial and residential portfolios, hotels, care homes and other leisure properties. Claire Heron

Claire has experience of both residential and commercial property work including freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals, landlord and tenant work, assignments, deeds of variations and refinancing. Claire Hollins

Claire joined Kuits in May 2021 as a Senior Associate in our Employment team. Claire specialises in all aspects of employment law with particular focus on providing strategic, practical advice to employers on the whole spectrum of employment and HR issues. She has particular expertise in TUPE, restructures and reorganisations. Claire has vast experience in acting for a range of employers in both the private and public sectors ranging from SMEs to Plcs, Registered Providers of Social Housing, universities and schools. An experienced Employment Tribunal Advocate Claire has acted for a range of employers in the successful defence of complex discrimination claims and TUPE disputes as well as more day to day unfair dismissal claims. Claire Treacy

Associate Claire advises on all aspects of employment law. Claire has experience advising both employees and employers during the Employment Tribunal procedure. In particular, Claire has had a particular focus on claims of sexual harassment and unfair dismissal. Claire also has experience in non-contentious matters, advising clients on the implications of TUPE and grievance and disciplinary procedures. Claire has delivered a number of training sessions to clients on Equality and Diversity in the workplace to assist employers to protect their business in the event of a claim of discrimination.

Claire Morris

Claire provides advice and assistance to a local and national clients on a range of complex alcohol and entertainment licence matters. These include, in particular, premises licence applications (including those in cumulative impact zones), SEV licence applications and other regulatory issues such as Covid-19 restrictions and policy impact on business operations. Claire has returned to the licensing team, having first worked with Felicity Tulloch in 2007. In between, Claire practised for a number of years as a healthcare regulatory solicitor representing clients at inquest and in the Court of Protection. As a result, Claire is very experienced in dealing with statutory bodies and has a detailed but practical approach to regulatory matters.

Colin Davies

Colin is a Senior Lawyer in our family team. Areas of Expertise Colin has specialised in family law for over 25 years, dealing with all aspects of relationship breakdown for both married and unmarried couples. David Chambers

David is a senior associate in our tax and estate planning team. Areas of Expertise David has a particular specialism for providing advice to clients who have received a reward for Personal Injury, by ensuring the correct structures are in place to protect those assets for the client, for their family and for future generations. David Moroney

Emma Nimmo

Graham Wood

Partner in the Tax and Estate Planning Team, Graham specialises in tax and trusts law and on a daily basis handles high value estate planning work. Paul Bricknell

Paul is a partner and Head of our Tax and Estate Planning team and specialises in all aspects of tax and estate work, with a particular focus on the succession of family businesses. Paul’s work includes advising on the use of wills and trusts for succession planning, as well as asset ownership structures to maximise tax efficiency. Peter Kaye

Peter is a senior lawyer in our commercial disputes team. Areas of Expertise Peter has specialised in commercial dispute resolution for over 34 years. He has acted in many high value and complex commercial disputes as well as acting on many smaller cases where perhaps issues of principle are paramount. Whilst predominantly acting for corporate entities he regularly acts for individuals. Rebecca Lowe

Steve Eccleston

Managing partner Kuits, Steve began his career in the firm's commercial property department and has since stayed involved with the management and structuring of transactions on behalf of a number of the department’s key clients. Wendi Bussin

Wendi is the firm’s specialist regulatory and business crime consultant, with over 20 years’ experience. She has particular expertise in the complex field of contentious tax issue resolution and asset forfeiture, advising on both direct and indirect tax enquiries. Wendi has defended both companies and individuals in numerous cases brought by the SFO and HM Revenue & Customs and has particular experience of very high cost and complex cases, predominantly involving allegations of fraud. Currently, Wendi is dealing with a private prosecution in a multi-million pound international fraud case. Wendi is also a member of the Female Fraud Forum.

Yasmin Kalantari

Yasmin provides advice on intellectual property disputes and works with clients across a number of industry sectors including retail, technology, media, food and leisure. She has experience in dealing with disputes relating to trade marks, patents, copyright and designs as well as the related areas of passing off, defamation and misuse of confidential information. She has worked on cases before the High Court, the Court of Appeal, Intellectual Property Enterprise Court (IPEC) and the UK Intellectual Property Office Tribunal. Yasmin was also involved in coordinating a worldwide trade mark dispute with concurrent US and UK court proceedings. In addition to the contentious aspects of Intellectual Property, Yasmin advises on non-contentious matters such as the registrability of IP rights and the exploitation of existing rights through, for example, licensing. Since qualification Yasmin has developed a specialism in UK and EU Competition law, and has so far advised on complex matters involving anti-competitive agreements, selective distribution, abuse of dominance, block exemptions and hardcore restrictions such as price fixing, as well as references to the Competition and Markets Authority.
