Gareth Jones

Partner. Gareth is a corporate finance lawyer specialising in equity capital markets and mergers and acquisitions. Guy Lougher

Guy is a partner in the EU and competition law group at Pinsent Masons. He has particular experience of advising clients in the food, automotive, pharmaceutical, chemical, utilities and oil industries. He has worked on competition investigations by the European Commission and UK sector regulators, including attending dawn raids. In this context he has advised clients on fining and leniency procedures and making leniency applications. Guy has handled merger clearances before the European Commission and the OFT/Competition Commission in the UK. Iain Gilbey

Iain is a Partner and leads our Planning Environment Energy and Infrastructure consenting practice. Iain focuses exclusively on planning and related environmental law matters. Iain advises a range of private and public sector organisations on all aspects of planning law, including: strategy setting, policy promotion, environmental impact and strategic environmental impact assessment, major projects, infrastructure agreements and planning obligations, judicial review and statutory challenges, enforcement proceedings and project managing major public inquiries. James Crookes

James is the Head of our Real Estate Global Sector, and is Head of our Property Group. He has many years’ experience of commercial real estate, with a particular focus on undertaking investment and asset management work. He has acted for clients on a wide variety of acquisitions, disposals, fundings, developments and lettings, including major portfolio transactions, joint ventures and complex financing models.  James also specialises in developing and implementing innovative service delivery models, which maximise efficiency and consistency of approach for our clients. James is responsible for our Real Estate relationships with a broad range of investors including UK and European institutions, fund managers, private equity houses and property companies.

James Long

James is a partner at Pinsent Masons LLP who operates in main stream transactional real estate work including property investment and development work .  He has specialised for the last 10 years in private healthcare investment, acting predominantly for investors who purchase (by way of completed asset acquisitions, corporate wrappers, forward purchases and forward funded developments) primary care centres, care homes, retirement villages and other specialist healthcare units.  In addition, James acts for a number of developers’ of healthcare assets and deals with acquisitions, asset management and disposals for a number of social care operators.   James leads a number of the real estate group’s key relationships, manages a cross office team internally and regularly advises on overall strategy and tactics for his clients.

Jon Harris

Jon is a partner who specialises in advising public and private companies, entrepreneurs and investment banks on public takeovers, mergers and acquisitions, disposals, reverse takeovers, joint ventures, corporate restructurings and reorganisations, IPOs and secondary issues (including rights issues, placings and open offers). Kate Orviss

Kate leads our Global Health Projects Team which advises both the public and private sector on major health projects, joint ventures and partnership arrangements around the world. Kevin Boa

Kevin is a property lawyer who advises clients on a wide range of commercial property development and investment deals with an emphasis on large scale strategic land, build to rent, housing, mixed use development and energy projects. Melanie Grimshaw

Melanie is a Senior Associate specialising in all aspects of development planning, highways and compulsory purchase, as well as major infrastructure project authorisations, including nationally significant infrastructure projects under the Planning Act 2008.  Melanie has a broad range of expertise and acts for both private and public sector clients. Melanie has acted on some of the UK's major regeneration schemes providing strategic legal advice on development proposals, as well as advising on contentious planning matters including in relation to planning appeals and judicial review proceedings. Melanie’s work also includes advising on Environmental Impact Assessment. In the transport sector, Melanie has advised promoters and objectors in relation to road and tramway schemes.  Melanie also has experience of projects in the energy sector, including gas-fired power stations.

Melanie Grimmitt

Melanie is a partner who has specialised in construction law for over 15 years. Melanie has worked on energy and infrastructure projects in the UK and internationally and devised, drafted and negotiated complex and innovative contract structures. Melanie leads the team advising on the construction contracts for the London Array Offshore Wind Farm (the world’s largest offshore wind farm in operation) and is currently advising on another three offshore wind projects. In addition Melanie is very active in the nuclear sector, particularly nuclear decommissioning projects, acting for the NDA and private sector clients. Richard Williams

Simon Plunkett

Simon is a partner with wide experience of project advisory work and dispute resolution in various sectors, acting for employers, contractors, consultants and specialist sub-contractors. Simon has for a number of years advised clients in disputes resolved by litigation, arbitration, adjudication and ADR (particularly mediation), but more recently the focus of his practice has been advisory work.
