Miguel Ángel Alonso

Miguel Ángel Alonso is Counsel for the Firm in the Tax practice. He possesses over 5 years of extensive expertise in providing tax advisory services to both domestic and international corporations. His specialization lies in federal taxes and international taxation. Throughout his professional journey, Miguel Ángel has actively engaged in national and international corporate restructurings and has advised both private and public companies from diverse industries. Additionally, he has also played a role in evaluating several cross-border transactions, facilitating investment projects in Mexico, and assisting in the placement of shares on the Mexican Stock Exchange. The above, with special focus on domestic provisions, as well as the provisions contained in treaties to avoid double taxation. Furthermore, Miguel Angel has successfully guided companies in negotiating with governmental authorities to analyze tax reforms related to the digital economy and virtual assets.

Enrique Bojanic

Enrique is Counsel for the Firm in the Corporate / M&A and Real Estate practices. He is experienced in providing legal and business advice pertaining to different types of projects, transactions, operations, investments, divestitures, joint ventures, real estate law, corporate restructuring, mergers, acquisitions, and spin-offs, to private equity funds, as well as to various Mexican and foreign companies. His practice has also focused on issues related to project finance and infrastructure, e-commerce, and anti-trust law, foreign investment, among others.

Patricio Gorozpe

Patricio is the Founding Partner of the Firm. He has ample experience providing legal and business advice to Mexican and international companies in all kinds of projects, transactions, investments, divestments, strategic alliances and joint ventures, private equity funds, real estate, corporate restructuring, mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, dissolutions and liquidations of companies, disputes among shareholders, foreign investment, project finance and infrastructure, among others. He has designed and implemented complex strategies for Mexican and foreign business companies.

Paul is Founding Partner of the Firm. He has extensive experience in tax planning and consulting, both in national and international matters, as well as in corporate, contractual, financial, and regulatory matters; his practice has focused mainly on mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, real estate transactions, investment structuring, and estate planning.

Bernardo Mendoza

Bernardo is a Partner at Kavanagh Gorozpe. He has a strong track record advising companies in the financial, banking, and technology sectors on complex administrative law matters, regulatory compliance, and anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing (AML/CTF). As Deputy General Director at the National Banking and Securities Commission, he contributed to the drafting and amendment of AML/CTF regulations and oversaw the supervision of investment advisors in this area. He also played an active role in the development of the Law to Regulate Financial Technology Institutions and has designed and implemented compliance processes tailored to highly regulated industries. In the energy sector, his experience includes the legal structuring of oil and gas exploration and production operations, contract negotiation, regulatory risk management, and dispute resolution between the public and private sectors. He has led innovative transactions, including the first transfer of interest in production-stage exploration and extraction contracts in Mexico, and has advised on strategic projects involving surface use and land occupation rights.

Alejandro is a Partner at Kavanagh Gorozpe. He has renowned expertise advising major multinational companies, including top corporations from the Fortune 500, on highly complex business projects throughout Mexico and Latin America. His areas of expertise encompass domestic and cross border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, divestitures, greenfield and real estate projects, commercial contracts, and banking and finance, including fintech and cryptocurrency. With his extensive experience within the mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and transactional sectors, successfully personnel devised transfer Alejandro has and executed strategies during corporate restructurings, strategic alliances, and M&A transactions for some of the largest corporations across Mexico. Furthermore, he provides guidance in the implementation of compensation packages and advises clients on the significance of ensuring compliance with key labor regulations.

Alejandro is Counsel for the Firm in the Civil and Commercial Litigation & Arbitration practices. He has ample experience providing legal advice to clients in commercial and administrative matters, as well as in anti-trust and telecommunication litigation and diverse legal proceedings before jurisdictional and administrative bodies and arbitration administrators. Likewise, he has advised and represented national and foreign clients in arbitration proceedings and, in turn, has counseled foreign institutions and entities on restructurings and bankruptcy proceedings.
