Ian Latimer
Ian Latimer
Ian is a partner in the injury department with 40 years’ post-qualification experience. He acts for claimants who have suffered catastrophic injuries and represents claimants in a wide range of large complex claims involving lifechanging injuries, disease and fatalities. He has been described as ‘standout’. Ian is committed, methodological and investigatory in his approach to claims. This serves claimant clients well in establishing liability in complex claims.  Ian has the patience and drive to get to the root of the case and succeed. Historically Ian has also acted on behalf of defendants and insurers giving him the knowledge and experience to know how they are likely to respond to claims.  His most notable reported success was the Court of Appeal case of Hatton v Sutherland, a leading occupational stress claim. Ian is approachable and builds strong relationships with those he represents and their families.
Jacqui Hayat
Jacqui Hayat
Jacqui is a partner in the Clinical Negligence Department and conducts cases involving hospital and GP care, misdiagnosis, spinal, orthopaedic, surgical and birth injury cases. Jacqui has been on the Law Society (SRA) Clinical Negligence Panel since 1998.  As a specialist in this field she has been recognised and has been ranked in the Legal 500 and as key individual in Chambers Legal directory. Her recent work includes High Court settlements on failure to diagnose cauda equine, wrongful birth claims, failure to diagnose subarachnoid haemorrhage and birth injuries including conducting cases to the Supreme Court. She is based in Sevenoaks but sees clients nationwide. Clients have described her as caring and supportive whilst pursuing their case with vigour and a focus on achieving the best result.
Laura Sylvester
Laura Sylvester
Laura is a Partner in the Medical Negligence Department. She has a broad range of expertise, with particular focus on brain injury claims relating to children with cerebral palsy. Laura also has a special interest in colorectal/abdominal and gynaecology claims. She has also developed a specialism in late diagnosis of infection cases and fatal claims and has an active caseload including cases of this nature. She acts for children and adults from all walks of life. She has received praise from clients about her professionalism, together with her ability to act in a sympathetic and supportive manner. Laura often acts in fatal claims and represents clients at Inquests. Due to the nature of the work, the cases can be harrowing for clients and Laura has experience of guiding clients through the legal process whilst understanding the needs of her clients. Laura has written for the Personal Injury Law Journal on a number of occasions.
