Brendan assists in all areas of Gordons’ healthcare practice. This includes Trust disciplinary matters, Regulatory proceedings (GMC / MPTS & GDC), Employment Tribunal proceedings, clinical negligence claims, Inquests and criminal defence litigation. He regularly attends Medical Practitioner Tribunal Service Hearings, General Dental Council Hearings, Trust Disciplinary Hearings, Inquests, the High Court, Criminal Trials and Police interviews to advise and represent clients (including doctors, dentists and health care professionals).Brendan has successfully represented clients in GMC, GDC and HCPC fitness to practise proceedings in relation to allegations including: deficient professional performance, misconduct, having a criminal conviction and health concerns (sometimes after a lengthy and document heavy hearing). He has also successfully defended clients in criminal proceedings, which resulted in Crown Court trials, after they were accused of committing serious offences. Brendan has also advised and represented clients during Employment Tribunal proceedings and Inquests with favourable outcomes.
Partner and Head of Department since joining Gordons in 2007.  Work undertaken includes defending claims of clinical negligence, representing clients at Inquests and Inquiries and representing professionals before their Regulatory bodies.

Senior Associate Kathryn specialises in commercial landlord and tenant law and the sale and acquisition of commercial properties, both as portfolios and as individual transactions.She is experienced in dealing with commercial property transactions for pharmacies, doctors' and dentists' surgeries, care homes and children's day nurseries.
SolicitorNiall is an experienced litigator with a broad range of Civil and Property litigious matters.  Niall has expertise in Property Disputes, especially service charge recovery, landlord and tenant matters and leasehold enfranchisement (acting for both landlords and tenants).
Partner Shelley qualified as a solicitor in 2013 and joined Gordons in December 2015. Shelley assists healthcare professionals in defending claims brought in the High Court or the Count Courts, including claims in negligence and discrimination. With over 10 years’ experience in claims, she is familiar with all stages of the litigation process including undertaking initial investigations, gathering relevant disclosure, identifying and interviewing witnesses and preparing statements, instructing experts, settlement negotiations and trial. She also has experience in disciplinary proceedings, including before the General Dental Council, General Medical Council and Nursing and Midwifery Council. This enables her to advise clients where there are potential regulatory issues alongside a claim.
