Career

Ned Beale is a commercial disputes lawyer specialising in complex litigation and international arbitration. He was named UK's Litigator of the Year by Legal Week at their 2019 Litigation & Arbitration Awards.

Ned has extensive experience dealing with contractual claims, including claims arising out of Brexit, Covid-19 and Russia related disruption, shareholder disputes, post-M&A claims, contentious aviation matters and disputes in the manufacturing, broadcasting and technology sectors. His long track-record of acting in banking matters includes retail and structured finance disputes, as well as acting for the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Fair Banking in the Supreme Court.

Recent cases include advising Qatar Airways in its dispute with Airbus concerning its A350 and A321 Neo fleets, one of The Lawyer’s ‘Top 20 Cases’ of 2023 and acting for the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Fair Banking in a judicial review against the FCA, one of The Lawyer’s ‘Top 20 Cases’ of 2024.  Ned appears in international arbitration as counsel, advocate and arbitrator and is a member of the ICC UK Arbitration & ADR Committee.

Previously at Trowers & Hamlins LLP where he led the international arbitration practice, he joined Hausfeld in 2021 and was appointed Co-Head of Commercial Disputes in 2024.  His team won Dispute Resolution Team of the Year at the LexisNexis Legal Awards 2024.
