Following its merger in July 2024, Pérez-Llorca inherited the former González Calvillo's IP team, which makes for a reliable choice for companies operating in Mexico, whether they require ongoing counsel on rights protection, or court representation on specific issues. The department has in recent years become well versed in co-ordinating counsel across Latin America and will look to further develop its cross-border portfolio following the takeover by an Iberian heavyweight. Pablo Hooper and Alberto Pliego co-lead the team: Hooper is a standout figure in strategic litigation regarding the protection of intellectual property rights, but concurrently maintains a broader IP practice; Pliego, in turn, has strong knowledge of rights protection in the real estate, energy and technology sectors. At senior associate level, Lirio Salgado is a key name in the practice group's patents offering, and Constantino Aquique supports on the full scope of IP litigation. Manuel Gutierrez joined the senior associate ranks from TMI Abogados in August 2023.
