Ruta Armone

Rūta Armone is a partner with experience in corporate, M&A and securities law. She has represented various public and private clients on general corporate and complex transactional matters, including public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and venture capital financings. Rūta has been engaged in the major regional transactions and spends a considerable amount of time helping clients prepare for the merger, restructuring, acquisition or IPO. This includes working on their corporate governance matters, assisting in legal due diligence, advising on transactions structuring and leading the project from day one to successful closing. Rūta is also an active member of the venture capital and start-up ecosystem. She participates in working groups and associations to improve the legal and tax environment empowering entrepreneurs and high-growth tech companies to succeed.

Sarunas Keserauskas

Before joining the partners’ team at Ellex, Dr. Šarūnas Keserauskas served as Chairman of the Competition Council of the Republic of Lithuania for two consecutive terms (2011-2023). Prior to that, he gained legal advisor experience at ‘Ellex’ from 1998 to 2009 and then worked as senior legal advisor at the UK Office of Fair Trading. Dr. Šarūnas Keserauskas is widely recognized as one of the Baltic states’ most respected competition law professionals. He was awarded the Cross of the Knight of the Order ‘For Merits to Lithuania’. President Dalia Grybauskaitė presented him with the Order as an overall recognition of the work and efforts of the Competition Council team. During his tenure, the Competition Council was of the most professional institutions in the world. While leading the Competition Council, Šarūnas also served as the leader of several EU technical support projects in Georgia, Ukraine, and Egypt. Dr. Keserauskas has been teaching competition law for more than 20 years, starting at the Riga Graduate School of Law (2000-2005) and, since 2005, at Vilnius University, where he currently holds the position of partnership professor.

Tadas Varapnickas

Dr. Tadas Varapnickas is an Associate Partner working in the field of litigation and international arbitration. The lawyer has accumulated valuable experience in representing clients in complex arbitration cases under the regulations of SCC, ICC, LCIA, VCCA, UNUM and other arbitration institutions. His exceptional experience in international arbitration is confirmed by his inclusion in the first Legal 500 list of the best arbitration specialists in the region, Arbitration Powerlist 2021: Central and Eastern Europe. Tadas also represents clients in the courts of general jurisdiction and administrative courts, and his experience includes disputes regarding the performance and termination of contracts, the application of civil liability, annulment of administrative penalties, etc. The lawyer has accumulated many years of experience working in a law firm, as well as serving as an adviser on legal affairs to the President Dalia Grybauskaitė. Dr. T. Varapnickas is also a lecturer at the Vilnius University Faculty of Law, author (and co-author) of various scientific publications, and editor of the only arbitration-related journal in Lithuania “Arbitration. Law and Practice”. In 2018 Tadas was elected as the lecturer of the year at the Vilnius University Faculty of Law. Tadas is also a graduate of the Paris Arbitration Academy and LLM in International Dispute Resolution at the University of Geneva.

Tomas Kamblevicius

Tomas Kamblevičius is an expert experienced in advising local and global businesses — many of which are Fortune Global 500 and FTSE 100 companies — in a variety of industries on a mix of commercial law matters. His expertise in international, EU and domestic trade covers in-depth knowledge of general trade regulation, customs regulation, export and import controls, commercial agreements, product-specific regulation, product liability and other matters. He also has valuable experience in complex IT projects as well as extensive knowledge of electronic communication law. Tomas often leads large domestic transactions and is often responsible for cross-border legal projects.

Valentinas Mikelenas

Prof. habil. dr. V. Mikelėnas is a partner and a former judge of the Supreme Court of Lithuania, who has more than 30 years of legal experience. He was the head of the drafting group of the Civil Code and is one of the most prominent legal theorists and legal scholars in Lithuania. He is an expert in arbitration disputes, a member of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences, was a member of the study group of the European Civil Code, a member-expert of the European Family Law Commission, a founding member of the European Law Institute and an ICSID arbitrator. His significant experience also includes membership in the International Association of Procedural Law (IAPL), the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA) and the International Arbitration Institute (IAI). Valentinas has also gained exceptional and especially valuable expertise in contract, tort and family law, civil procedure, arbitration and private international law — he works on legal projects of state importance.

Vilija Vaitkute Pavan

Vilija Vaitkutė Pavan is actively engaged in arbitration and frequently serves as an arbitrator and counsel in numerous international and domestic arbitration proceedings under arbitration rules of the ICC, SCC, FCCC, CCIG, LCIA, UNCITRAL, and VCCA (Vilnius Court of Commercial Arbitration). Chambers Global describes Vilija as “highly respected for her work in high-profile Lithuanian arbitration cases, and is praised by one client as being excellent for strategic advice” and additionally notes that Vilija “has an impressive grasp of court psychology” and “interviewees and peers see her as one of the strongest names for both arbitration and litigation” in jurisdiction. Vilija was an ICC Arbitration Court member for Lithuania thus giving her the opportunity not only to read thousands of various arbitral awards’ drafts but also to be involved in numerous discussions over complicated arbitration issues. For more than 15 years Vilija was the Head of Ellex Valiunas Dispute Resolution practice. She regularly gives lectures at international conferences and is the author of a number of articles and papers on arbitration. Vilija is also the Honorary Consul of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in Lithuania. In 2020 and 2021, Mrs. Pavan was nominated as the only professional negligence lawyer in the Baltic States by Who`s Who Legal and received Litigation Star ranking by the legal directory Benchmark Litigation.
