Helger has a deep knowledge of transactions and the structuring and financing thereof. Helger acts on behalf of various clients including national and international private equity funds, large and midsize companies, informal investors and management. Helger has a strong focus on companies involved in IT, (new) media, renewable energy and business with a technical background.

In the course of his career Jan has represented a great many managing directors, supervisory directors and shareholders of listed and unlisted companies. As an employers’ lawyer he has broad experience with the employment law aspect of reorganisations, mergers and acquisitions, as well as in the field of dismissal law. However, he also frequently represents individual employees. As a Registered Mediator he has a broad experience in facilitating the solution of all kinds of disputes in which professional organisations as well as individual managers and other employees are involved. In that capacity he has contributed over the years to the solution of a wide range of disputes involving the management of commercial and non-profit employers, (groups of) their employees and their works-councils. Jan is also a former Deputy Justice at the Court of Appeal of The Hague and a former member of the Disciplinary Board of the Bar of Amsterdam. He is a member of the Supervisory board of B.A.S.F. Netherlands B.V. and he regularly lectures and writes about developments in labour law.

Main focus is on individual dismissals, collective layoffs, transfers of business (mergers and acquisitions, outsourcing, harmonization of employment conditions and works council issues), non-competition issues, employer liability, employment contracts, including (international) secondment, collective bargaining agreements and personnel data registration issues with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.

Sander Pieroelie
Sander specializes in contract law. He has broad experience in drawing up and reviewing contracts, but also in assisting clients that are involved in conflicts regarding commercial contracts. Within the field of contract law, Sander has a lot of knowledge about distribution agreements, cooperation agreements, sale and purchase agreements, contracts for services, confidentiality agreements, IT contracts, user terms for websites and general conditions.
