Barrister with partner equivalent status at Addleshaw Goddard LLP. Specialises in consumer finance. Advises a wide range of clients on regulatory compliance with the Consumer Credit Act, FSA regulation for banks and mortgage lenders, the Payment Services Directive and consumer protection. Also has extensive experience supporting due diligence on M&A and securitisation transactions. Formerly practised as a barrister with Fred Philpott’s Chambers and spent two and a half years as a senior legal advisor at the Office of Fair Trading, advising on consumer law and consumer credit. Richard advises investors, developers and occupiers with a particular focus on the office, industrial and logistics, and retail sectors, leading teams undertaking portfolio asset management work and acting on major transactional property investment acquisitions and disposals.
