Catarina Pinto Xavier integrates Public Law, Competition & Regulatory department at SLCM // Serra Lopes, Cortes Martins & Associados.In Public Law she has been assisting both public and private entities specially focusing in public procurement and execution of public contracts, administrative procedure matters, litigation and arbitration involving public entities.In Competition & Regulatory she has been involved in important antitrust cases, either before Competition Authority or regulatory entities, as well as representing the defendants before court. Combining experience in Public Law and Competition and Regulatory she has been acting in energy and environmental sectors, particularly in water and waste treatment sectors. More recently, pursuing the strong growth of Real Estate & Planning SLCM’s area, she has also been practicing in planning law matters.

Specialist in advising national and international clients on cybersecurity and privacy, in auditing privacy management systems for companies in various industries, in defining compliance strategies and mitigation measures, and in services such as privacy as a service (particularly privacy-by-design support services and data breach response services). Joana Mota Agostinho assists clients with digital transformation projects and the regulatory and contractual side of operations development in electronic communications and postal services, IT, outsourcing, cloud computing, emerging technologies, intellectual property, ecommerce, advertising and media. She has advised clients from a wide range of industries, particularly banking; energy; healthcare and pharmaceutical; hotels; insurance; and technology, media and telecommunications. Before joining Cuatrecasas, she worked for other law firms in Portugal and for three years in the Legal and Regulatory Department of the Portuguese regulatory authority, ANACOM. Co-author of the chapters on Portugal in The Privacy, Data Protection and Cybersecurity Law Review, 7th Edition (2020) and in International Transfers Data Guidance.
