Aidan is a partner and head of Beauchamps' Commercial Real Estate team. Aidan specialises in mixed-use developments, construction law, acquisitions and disposals of all types of commercial property, as well as environmental law, negotiation of leases, tax law and the acquisition and development of brownfield sites and greenfield sites. He has extensive experience acting for large and institutional clients in multi-site leasing and licensing of properties and concession agreements.
Ainsley Heffernan is a partner and head of the award winning Energy & Natural Resources Group at Beauchamps. He has over twenty years’ experience advising clients in the energy sector. Ainsley and his team have extensive experience representing clients involved in wind farm projects (both onshore and offshore), solar PV, energy storage, bioenergy and green hydrogen. Ainsley specialises in energy law, corporate law and complex contract negotiation, with significant expertise in the regulatory framework underpinning energy infrastructure projects, as well as the practical issues that arise. He speaks regularly at energy sector conferences and contributes to a variety of industry publications. He is on the executive council of Wind Energy Ireland and is also an active member of the Irish Solar Energy Association.
Anne is a partner in Beauchamps' Commercial Property department, with broad experience in commercial real estate transactions, acquisitions and disposals with a particular emphasis on investment acquisitions, development and property-based lending. Anne has expertise in landlord and tenant law, particularly in the office and retail sectors. Anne has significant previous experience in commercial real estate-based finance transactions advising numerous pillar banks on all real estate elements of financing due diligence.
Barry is a seasoned litigator and insolvency expert who heads up Beauchamps' Insolvency & Corporate Restructuring team. Recognised for his commercial instincts and technical ability, he represents stakeholders and officeholders in a wide range of contentious and non-contentious insolvency and debt restructuring cases, with significant Irish and cross border experience. Barry is the is Deputy President of INSOL Europe. In addition he is the only Fellow of INSOL International in Ireland. He is also a former chairman of the Restructuring & Insolvency Ireland (RII).
Ciara is partner in Beauchamps litigation & dispute resolution team. Ciara has extensive experience advising clients, from both a plaintiff and defendant perspective, across a wide range of contentious matters. She has particular experience in claims involving professional negligence, debt recovery and enforcement, financial services litigation and medical negligence. Ciara is a specialist in the area of professional negligence and has represented insurers across a broad range of indemnity cases, particularly in the area of professional negligence claims against solicitors. She advises insurers on policy interpretation and coverage disputes. She also has experience in advising both insurers and self-insured bodies in respect of employer’s and public liability personal injury claims.
Clíodhna is a partner in Beauchamps' litigation & dispute resolution team. Clíodhna has vast experience of recovery and enforcement proceedings and financial services litigation. She also has extensive experience in the area of residential mortgage repossession, and regularly appears in both the High Court and the Circuit Court in repossession proceedings. Clíodhna is a specialist in the area of personal insolvency and represents financial institutions in bringing objections to proposed personal insolvency arrangements. Clíodhna has acted in a number of leading cases which have defined and shaped the landscape of personal insolvency law.
Colm is a partner in Beauchamps' Commercial Property department. Colm has broad commercial property experience, advising on the acquisition, development, sale and leasing of commercial, retail and industrial property – including hotels, shopping centre units, retail parks and office developments – as well as on landlord and tenant law issues and negotiating commercial leases. Colm has extensive experience in the area of enforcement and insolvency related property matters and works with receivers, financial institutions and other service providers in relation to the management and disposal of large property portfolios and his team is the market leader in this area. Colm has also acted for developers and construction professionals in negotiating construction contracts for numerous development projects.
Conor is a partner in Beauchamps Housing and Commercial Property team. He advises approved housing bodies, local authorities, developers, investors, public bodies, landlords, tenants, financial institutions, and insolvency practitioners on all aspects of housing and commercial property.  As a key member of the award-winning Housing Team, he has vast experience advising on the acquisition, development, and management of housing (with a particular speciality for social and affordable housing).  Conor also has strong specialist knowledge in the acquisition, development, disposal, leasing, and licensing of various types of property including mixed commercial and residential developments, shopping centres, retail parks and office developments. Conor is admitted to practice in England and Wales.
Damian is a partner in Beauchamps' Corporate, Commercial and M&A department, who joined Beauchamps in November 2018 having previously worked as in-house counsel for Oracle Corporation's EMEA operations. As a result, he brings valuable insight and strategic experience, having "been the client". Damian originally qualified as a barrister in 2000. Experienced in all areas of corporate and commercial law, Damian's recent focus has been on complex commercial contracts (cross industry but with particular expertise in the technology space), data protection, franchise agreements, M&A, and cross-border structuring.
Daniel is partner and head of Beauchamps' Banking & Finance team with extensive experience in all facets of corporate lending, including acquisition finance, construction finance, project finance and secured lending. Daniel works with Irish and international financial institutions and has broad expertise in lending transactions with senior, mezzanine and subordinated debt tranches; multi-jurisdictional lending transactions; intercreditor arrangements; acting for the sellers and buyers of loan portfolios; security reviews; receiverships, examinerships and structured workouts.
Domhnaill is a partner in Beauchamps Commercial Property team. Domhnaill, primarily working with large financial institutions and private equity funds, investors and their appointed receivers in relation to the management and disposal of large-scale real estate assets. He has specialist experience in advising on the enforcement of security over property assets including the appointment of fixed asset receivers, sale of distressed property, general real estate loan portfolio management and title/security remediation. As a qualified Chartered Tax Advisor, Domhnaill also has extensive experience advising some of Ireland’s leading property developers and investors in relation to the tax efficient acquisition, management, and disposal of real estate assets.  He is also well versed in all aspects of stamp duty, capital gains tax and VAT in the context of property transactions.
Edward is a partner in Beauchamps litigation & dispute resolution team. Edward works with large financial institutions, financial service providers, real estate investors, receivers, liquidators, local authorities, public sector bodies and regulators. Edward works extensively with a range of public and regulatory bodies in contentious matters, particularly in the healthcare sector. Edward has broad experience in general commercial litigation, financial services litigation, professional negligence, landlord and tenant litigation, property litigation, acting for insolvency professionals in contentious matters. On the advisory side, Edward also advises on data protection and freedom of information law. Edward is also admitted to practice in England and Wales.
Emer is an experienced senior Partner in the Corporate & Commercial Department at Beauchamps, working with both Irish and International organisations and businesses across all sectors. Emer joined Beauchamps in 2015 as a partner in the Corporate and Commercial team, bringing a wealth of exceptional and significant experience as both a corporate lawyer and a senior in-house counsel, having been Deputy General Counsel for at Aviva Ireland, the Irish arm of the British Insurance Group, Aviva Plc. In addition to her role as a Partner on Beauchamps Corporate & Commercial team, Emer is also Chair of the Bank of Ireland's Independent Appeals panel, established as part of the framework of the Central Bank of Ireland's industry-wide tracker mortgage examination. The Tracker Mortgage Examination is the most significant supervisory review undertaken by the Central Bank in respect of its consumer protection mandate. As a Partner on Beauchamps Corporate & Commercial team, Emer specialises in advising multinational corporations and Irish companies on complex corporate solvent international structuring projects, cross border and domestic mergers, global reorganisations and returns of capital, redomiciliations, inward foreign direct investment and general corporate law and governance.
Emma is head of Beauchamps’ litigation & dispute resolution team with considerable experience of contractual and commercial dispute resolution, acting for both major financial institutions as well as State bodies, with considerable expertise in professional negligence claims and advises insurers and commercial clients in this area. She is also an expert in the area of legal project management and works with financial institutions on large-scale litigation and investigative regulatory projects. In 2019, Emma was the sole Irish winner of the Client Choice award for litigation and dispute resolution.
Fidelma is a partner and heads Beauchamps specialised Housing team. Fidelma has particular expertise in complex conveyancing and is an acknowledged market leader in the acquisition, development and management of social housing. Her practice includes all aspects of conveyancing and extends to the acquisition, structuring, financing, disposal and leasing of all types of property, including multi-unit developments, distressed and partially complete residential developments, shopping centres, retail parks and offices. She also advises on all aspects of landlord and tenant law. Fidelma works with local authorities, state agencies, Approved Housing Bodies, lending institutions, pension funds, sporting bodies, receivers, developers, institutional and private investors. As a result of her extensive experience, Fidelma has a unique insight into the key legal, commercial and social issues around social housing provision and a deep understanding of the unique and complex challenges which arise in the sector. Fidelma has well-developed client relationship management and project management expertise and experience and regularly collaborates with our construction, banking and procurement teams to deliver bespoke advices particular to the social housing sector.
Fiona is a partner in Beauchamps Litigation & Dispute Resolution team, working with financial institutions, corporate clients and public bodies. Fiona specialises in complex commercial disputes and has particular experience advising in the area of debt and security enforcement and insolvency matters. A specialist in mediation, Fiona also has vast expertise in advising in defamation actions and judicial review proceedings, as well as nuisance, product liability and professional negligence suits.
Gerry is a partner in the Commercial Property department and practices in all aspects of commercial property and re-structuring. In particular, he advises on the acquisition, structuring and disposal of all commercial, retail, industrial and residential property, together with associated financing, insolvencies and work-out arrangements. Gerry acts for a wide range of institutions and insolvency practitioners in connection with the property / security aspects of their due diligence, financing, enforcement, work-outs, asset disposals and re- structuring. Gerry's clients include a range of lenders, insolvency practitioners, developers, sellers, tenants, investors, retailers, charities, sporting bodies and statutory authorities. In addition, Gerry facilitates the liquor licensing and events licensing requirements of all our entertainment and retail clients, and lenders and insolvency practitioners who require advice, court action or project management in respect of their interests in existing or newly developed licensed premises.
Grace is partner in Beauchamps' medical negligence and personal injury team. Grace specialises in the area of medical and dental negligence. Grace has secured settlements and judgments at extremely high levels in clinical negligence and catastrophic injuries cases. She has particular experience and has acted for claimants in cases involving cerebral palsy, delayed diagnosis of cancer, wrongful death, birth injuries, dental negligence, surgical misadventure and catastrophic injuries. Grace has successfully concluded many cases where liability was strongly in dispute. She has vast experience in the court process and the tactical awareness required. In recent times, Grace has successfully employed the mediation process in order to bring to a conclusion a number of complex multi-party cases, involving difficult issues of causation.
Imelda Reynolds is the chair of Beauchamps and a senior partner in Beauchamps' Commercial Real Estate team, with over 35 years of significant and substantial commercial real estate and other experience. Her practice focuses on commercial property and corporate governance. She specialises in retail, investment and development commercial property work, and has a particular expertise in franchising. She also advises a range of public bodies and public and private companies on all aspects of governance, including strategy, compliance and conflict management.
Jacinta is a partner in Beauchamps' Commercial Property department. Jacinta works with investors (institutional, private equity and other fund investors), multi-national and domestic entities, landlords, tenants, financial institutions, insolvency practitioners and developers advising on all aspects of commercial property. Jacinta has wide-ranging experience advising on the acquisition, disposal, financing, leasing and licensing of various types of commercial properties including offices, mixed commercial and residential developments, industrial sites and retail premises. Jacinta has particular expertise working with multinational companies establishing a presence in Ireland for the first time, high value and volume (asset and loan) acquisitions and disposals and commercial leasing matters. Jacinta lectures annually on the LLM (International Commercial Property Law) at National University of Ireland, Galway
John is the managing partner of Beauchamps and is a partner in our corporate & commercial team. John leads the firm and is responsible for delivering our firm strategy which is to be market leader in Ireland in our chosen sectors.  John has overseen significant growth in the firm and expansion in the range of legal services provided by the firm. John continues to works closely with Irish and international businesses (in the waste, retail and hotel & leisure sectors) and specialises in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, corporate re-organisations and restructurings and general commercial matters. John often collaborates with Beauchamps’ banking, litigation and property teams on restructuring, corporate deals and examinerships.
Máire is a senior partner in Beauchamps' Corporate, Commercial and M&A team. She has well over 25 years' experience in advising Irish and international clients on corporate transactions of all kinds - mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, MBOs, MBIs, venture capital and private equity investments, listings and multi jurisdiction corporate restructurings. Máire advises on all aspects of venture capital - working with investors and managers on the establishment, investment in and winding up of venture capital funds, as well as advising investors and investees on equity investments. She has worked with a significant number of companies from start-up stage advising on all aspects of business law as they develop and scale including fundraisings, employee incentive arrangements, commercial agreements and corporate transactions. Máire also advises on general partnership law. Máire is chair of the Business Law Committee of the Law Society of Ireland. She is a member of the Company Law Review Group (CLRG). The CLRG is a statutory advisory expert body charged with advising the Minister for Business, Enterprise & Innovation on the review and development of company law in Ireland. Máire is also head of Diversity, Equality and Inclusion in Beauchamps.
Maitiú is a senior partner in Beauchamps’ Commercial Real Estate department. Maitiú works with a wide range of public, private and institutional commercial property investors, lending institutions, State bodies, local authorities and commercial/retail landlords and tenants, in the areas of commercial property, property-based insolvencies and non-contentious construction law. Maitiú has particular expertise in complex development projects with long lead in and delivery periods, including hotels, nursing homes and designated rejuvenation areas.
Mark is a consultant in Beauchamps' Corporate, Commercial and M&A department team. Mark works with clients in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors on a range of corporate and commercial matters. Mark has significant experience in advisory work in the areas of business regulation, corporate governance, public administration, grants/funding and commercial agreements. Mark’s charity and not for profit clients include national and international healthcare, childcare, disability and poverty relief / homelessness organisations, as well as religious congregations and educational bodies. He also has an extensive public sector practice.
Niall is a partner in Beauchamps' Banking and Finance department. His practice includes the area of structured finance, real estate finance, fund finance, acquisition and leveraged finance and securitisation. He also has significant experience in the area of project finance (including PPPs). He acts for and advises banks, State bodies, financial institutions, and institutional commercial property investors on all aspects of financing and on all aspects of corporate law related to investment structures, including ICAVs, QAIFs and SPV structures. Niall also works closely with Beauchamps market leading housing team.
Pat is a partner in the Banking and Finance department, specialising in all aspects of secured and unsecured lending. Pat acts for both Irish and international financial institutions and borrowers, advising on enforcement of security, compromise agreements and debt settlement agreements, refinancings, structured workouts and security reviews / remediation of security defects. Pat is also a member of Beauchamps' franchising group and acts primarily for franchisors in the roll out of franchise concepts and the drafting of franchise agreements and related documentation.
Pauline is a partner heading up Beauchamps' knowledge management team. Pauline and her team ensure  lawyers and clients are up to date on legal developments and trends. Her focus is on ensuring the collective experience and knowledge is shared across the Firm and with Beauchamps' clients. Pauline is involved in the delivery of client seminars, newsletters and topical updates. She provides ongoing support to the partners and other colleagues with briefing notes, checklists, legal research services, and professional development and skills training. Previously, Pauline was a member of the corporate and commercial team, advising clients on corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, fundraising, shareholders agreements and related areas.
Richard is a projects and construction lawyer, heading up Beauchamps' construction team, with over 25 years’ experience in specialist practices in Ireland and Australia both in contentious and non-contentious roles. He has had extensive experience advising in relation to a large number of high value infrastructure and construction projects both locally and in Australia and is admitted to practice in New South Wales (1995), New Zealand (2001) and Ireland (2003). His expertise includes drafting and advising on contracts for building and engineering works at all tiers, contracts for design consultancy services, project/construction management services, FM/OM services, collateral warranty documentation and agreements for all facets of PPP project work, property development and infrastructure provision.
Sandra is a partner and head of the employment and benefits team with over 20 years' experience providing legal and business risk support to key clients, General Counsel, managers, directors, CEOs and Board members within the private and public sector on contentious and non-contentious employee, governance and business-related issues. She advises on employment law and all related areas including employee and industrial relations, pension and employee benefits, health and safety, equality, protected disclosures and risk and governance. Her key skill is imparting considered, strategic legal advice on crisis management involving employees and the management and resolution of organisational and workplace conflict. Sandra acts as a trusted client relationship partner for many of Beauchamps' key clients. She is an excellent communicator and can engage with people at all organisational levels in a collaborative and supportive way, all the while maintaining high standards of technical excellence and service delivery. Sandra is a qualified mediator and holds a MA in Mediation (Organisational and Workplace Conflict Resolution) and a MSc in Human Resource Management which allow her to bring a unique and valuable perspective to her legal practice, which continues to be of significant benefit to Beauchamps' clients.
Sharon is a partner in Beauchamps' litigation and dispute resolution team. Sharon was called to the Bar of Ireland in 2005 and practiced as a Barrister for 12 years before being admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 2018. Sharon has extensive experience working with financial institutions, corporate and individual clients and specialises in advising on all aspects of contentious commercial matters. Sharon has considerable expertise in administrative law, bankruptcy, debt and security enforcement, employment law, planning, corporate, white collar and regulatory crime and tortious actions.
Shaun is the head of Beauchamps' Corporate, Commercial and M&A department. He has over 25 years' experience representing buyers, sellers and investors across a wide range of industry sectors. His main areas of work include mergers and acquisitions, equity investments, growth capital, private equity, joint ventures, MBOs, MBIs and corporate reorganisations. Approachable, pragmatic, and very knowledgeable, he leads a team of very committed professionals, and delivers a quality service in a timely manner. Shaun is also a qualified tax advisor, holding the AITI qualification from the Irish Taxation Institute, a trained CEDR mediator and a previous managing partner of the firm.
Simon is an partner within Beauchamps' Insolvency & Corporate Restructuring team. He acts for clients across a wide spectrum of insolvency and litigation matters, and acts for all stakeholders including liquidators, receivers and examiners. Simon has driven the promotion and expansion of the team to become a market leader in recent years. He has extensive experience in some of the most high profile matters to come before the Irish Courts including the examinership of CityJet DAC, the test case against FBD Insurance with respect to business interruption insurance arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, and the liquidation of multinational brands including Aldo Shoes Ireland Limited, Oasis Fashions Ireland Limited and Warehouse Fashions Ireland Limited, among others. Simon's practical approach to advice on complex issues of law within the tight parameters of insolvency, restructuring and litigation scenarios ensures the delivery of key outcomes for his clients while also allowing collective collaboration with third parties. Simon is also admitted to practice in England and Wales.
Stuart is a senior associate in Beauchamps award winning Energy & Natural Resources team. He joined Beauchamps in September 2020 from Bord na Móna plc where he spent the previous five years providing legal support across the company’s diverse business operations including, thermal generation, wind farm development and solar PV. Stuart commenced legal practice in 2010 having worked for over 15 years as a construction professional on a wide range of infrastructure and commercial property projects and consequently has an acute awareness and understanding of client's needs and requirements. This was something he leveraged and developed during his time as a senior in-house lawyer in Bord na Móna and continues to leverage in delivering practical, targeted advice to our clients. His specialities include energy law, planning and environmental law, construction law and contract negotiations. He advises energy developers, renewable energy developers, property developers, local authorities and semi-state companies.
Thomas is a partner in Beauchamps' litigation & dispute resolution team and heads up the crisis management and white collar crime units. Thomas works with Irish and international businesses across all sectors, financial institutions and state bodies. Thomas specialises in complex commercial disputes and has particular experience advising financial institutions and corporate clients involved in claims for professional negligence, breach of contract, security enforcement, judicial review and property disputes. Thomas advises clients on many aspects of administrative decision-making and following fair procedures as well as obligations under Data Protection and Freedom of Information legislation. Thomas was admitted as a solicitor of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (British Virgin Islands) and as an attorney-at-law in the Cayman Islands in 2008. He spent two years working in the commercial litigation department of a large Cayman Islands law firm. Thomas won the Client Choice Award for Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in Ireland in 2018.
Tony is a partner in Beauchamps' commercial property team. Tony works with Irish and international property developers and specialises in large-scale, mixed retail, commercial and residential projects. Tony has extensive experience in reviewing and advising on specialist property matters, including: complex title structures, planning issues arising in large-scale developments, high-value property acquisitions and disposals, partnerships, joint ventures and collective property investments; business leases; and site assembly and development agreements. Tony also advises lenders on all aspects of taking and enforcing security over property. He helps financial institutions in dealing with distressed or defaulting borrowers. Tony, through his AITI qualification and work experience, has considerable expertise in relation to VAT on property, in addition to Stamp Duty and other taxes. Tony has throughout his career been part of and led large property and cross departmental legal teams. Tony also heads up the Pro-Bono team at Beauchamps.
