He is dually qualified as both, an attorney at law (admitted in 2019) and a tax advisor (admitted in 2017).  He holds a doctorate in law from the University of Vienna (Dr. iur. 2016, Mag. iur. 2012) and also degrees in business management from the Vienna University of Economics and Business (M.Sc. 2012, B.Sc. 2010). Before CERHA HEMPEL, Christoph Schimmer worked for several years in an international law firm as well as in a big four tax consulting firm as well as a pre-doc research and teaching assistant at University of Vienna. Christoph Schimmer is a specialist in both fields of practice, tax law (specialisations: corporate tax law and international tax law) and corporate law (specialisations: corporate law and company law). At the interface of the corporate and tax practice, he provides multidisciplinary tax and corporate advice in complex cross-border M&A transactions, reorganizations and tax structuring.   In addition to working with CERHA HEMPEL, Christoph Schimmer regularly gives lectures at the academy for tax advisors and certified public auditors as well as other educational institutions.
