Jasper Bossuyt

Liedekerke

Jasper Bossuyt is a Senior Associate at Liedekerke focussing on Belgian and international tax litigation, advisory and transactional work. He advises Belgian and international clients during tax audits and assists clients in administrative tax procedures (including MAP and arbitration) and judicial proceedings before Belgian courts and tribunals, including the Constitutional Court and the Court of Cassation. He further regularly advises on all aspects of Belgian corporate tax law, including taxation of investment funds and double tax treaties. He also assists clients in domestic and cross-border transactions, including corporate and structured finance, M&A, real estate transactions and (debt) restructuring. Jasper is also a researcher and lecturer affiliated with the Institute of Tax Law at KU Leuven where he lectures on corporate taxation (Brussels campus). He regularly publishes in national and international journals and books and has received various recognitions in this respect. He has authored a book on tax treaty interpretation (PhD, 2022) and on the income tax aspects of royalties (2014).

Kristien Carbonez

Kristien Carbonez is resident partner in our London representative office, where she acts as an ambassador for the firm. Having worked with a variety of clients while practising on both sides of the Atlantic, she has a broad grasp of international client needs, and liaises between clients and peer UK, US and other law firms and her specialist Brussels and Kinshasa based colleagues across the full range of Belgian and Congolese/OHADA regulatory, corporate and commercial law issues.  She also coordinates the firm’s various Country Desks and Liedekerke’s international law firm relationships.Kristien’s background is in Intellectual Property and EU law and regulatory issues.  Her IP experience has covered all forms of contentious and non-contentious intellectual property work, including patents, trademarks, trade secrets and confidentiality, copyright and designs. She has practised in Brussels, Washington DC, and London, and is a member of the New York and Brussels Bars, and a registered European lawyer with the Law Society of England and Wales.
