Balz Gross

Partner. Balz Gross is the Head of Homburger's Disputes (Litigation / Arbitration) practice. He advises clients on the international coordination of arbitral, state court and criminal proceedings covering multiple jurisdictions. He has extensive experience regarding all aspects of international arbitration (ICSID, ICC, LCIA, Swiss Rules, ad hoc, etc.) and complex litigation before Swiss state courts and authorities, including criminal proceedings and employment (compensation) related disputes. He has acted as party counsel in more than one hundred international arbitrations, in particular in proceedings relating to mergers and acquisitions, long-term supply contracts, distribution contracts and joint ventures. Balz Gross acts as counsel in large, mostly international proceedings before the state courts in all Swiss cantons, in particular the Commercial Courts, and represents foreign and Swiss clients in proceedings involving criminal law issues. Balz Gross is the Co-Head of the Employment and Executive Compensation Practice and has extensive experience in employment related disputes and employment aspects of transactions.

He represents clients in investigations and enforcement proceedings before Swiss and foreign governmental agencies, including U.S. authorities, and in domestic and international litigation proceedings.

Partner. Daniel Haeberli is a partner in Homburger's Banking & Finance as well as Capital Markets teams and he is the co-head of Homburger's TechGroup. His main focus is advising on complex financing structures, restructurings and special situations. Daniel acts as advisor to lenders, borrowers and sponsors on high profile financing transactions. His practice includes syndicated debt financing, acquisition and leveraged financing as well as bond offerings. Daniel also advises financial institutions on structuring, documentation and distribution of retail investment products.

His work focuses on complex, often public and high-stakes matters at the crossroads of regulatory, civil and criminal proceedings. He represents clients in investigations by Swiss and foreign authorities, in particular in proceedings by Swiss regulator FINMA and in investigations by US authorities against Swiss corporates. He leads internal investigations and advises clients on their compliance framework, with a special focus on AML, sanctions and anti-bribery compliance. He regularly conducts compliance reviews at Swiss financial institutions and carries out factual investigations in the context of FINMA enforcement proceedings.

He has extensive experience in all areas of Swiss and European competition law, ranging from merger control to administrative and civil antitrust litigation. He represents a wide range of companies and trade associations in proceedings before the Swiss competition authorities, the European Commission and in civil courts and arbitration proceedings. He also advises clients on compliance matters of Swiss and European competition law. Other areas of practice include regulated markets (in particular health care and life sciences, telecommunications and media, energy, infrastructure and transport), international trade and public procurement. Franz Hoffet is also a member of Homburger's Corporate / M&A team as well as its White Collar / Investigations working group.

Partner. Stefanie Pfisterer specializes in dispute resolution. She has broad experience as counsel and arbitrator in international arbitration proceedings. Stefanie Pfisterer has been involved in more than 50 arbitration proceedings under various arbitration rules. She is experienced in disputes arising, inter alia, out of agency and distribution, joint ventures and shareholder agreements, M&A transactions, and international sales contracts. She also frequently pursues enforcement, interim relief and/or annulment proceedings in relation to arbitral awards/arbitration proceedings. Furthermore, Stefanie Pfisterer represents clients in complex court proceedings in a broad range of matters, in particular in international and cross-border disputes. Contentious international trust and estate matters are her other areas of focus. In particular, she represents entrepreneurs, foundations, and international families in contentious trust and estate matters. Stefanie Pfisterer is Vice President of the Arbitration Court of the Swiss Arbitration Centre, a member of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR, and a lecturer at the University of St. Gallen.
