Anton Barnes-Webb is a partner in Bowmans’ Johannesburg office Banking and Finance Department. He specialises in project and other financing transactions and mergers and acquisitions. In project finance, Anton advises lenders, borrowers, sponsors and shareholders. He has advised on the financing of large-scale renewable energy projects, projects involving the manufacture and sale of bio-ethanol, and public infrastructure developments involving public private partnerships. Much of his work involves acting for clients in African jurisdictions outside of South Africa. He has BCom and LLB degrees from Stellenbosch University and an LLM from Cambridge University, UK.

She specialises in cross-border M&A, broad-based black economic empowerment (B-BBEE), solvent restructurings, restructuring of state-owned assets, joint ventures and corporate governance. She is renowned for her strong project management and execution skills when handling complex transactions. She has long-standing relationships with many multinationals, financial services organisations and TMT sector clients. They rely on her commercial and client-focused advice to navigate the local legal landscapes and manage and mitigate their risks. She has BA and LLB degrees from the University of Cape Town.
Bavesh  Pillay
Bavesh Pillay
Bavesh Pillay is a partner in Bowmans Johannesburg office Project Finance Practice. He specialises in construction and commercial law and has particular expertise in energy infrastructure and commercial property development projects. His focus is primarily on ‘front-end’ work involving the vetting or drafting of construction contracts, equipment supply agreements and professional services agreements (either as bespoke agreements or using the standard forms of contract, including the FIDIC, NEC and JBCC). Bavesh also advises on contractual, commercial and regulatory issues as well as dispute resolution. He has an LLB (cum laude) from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and an LLM from Harvard Law School in Boston.
